Halo Infinite has rolled out its new Banished Honor update, with developer 343 Industries making some crucial changes to the game's formula. This massive update includes a ton of new content, several bug fixes, and a multitude of features that are new to Halo Infinite.
Halo Infinite was released in 2021, marking a new era for Master Chief and also acting as the direct sequel to 343 Industries' Halo 5: Guardians. Thanks to new updates, Halo Infinite has continued to feel fresh and exciting, with the game recently receiving one of its most important updates to date.
As part of Halo Infinite's new Banished Honor update, players can work through a free new 20-tier reward track, which features items inspired by the Banished. This new operation will track player progression during its 5-week duration, allowing players to earn rewards at their own pace. This new pass is 100% free, but players can opt into the paid version for even more rewards. Once this new operation has concluded, the pass will be accessible within the following two premium offerings.
Halo Infinite Releases Major New Update
500 Credit Pass
- Permanent access to the Operation pass
- Exclusive customization item
- Extra Challenge slot
- Bonus Match XP during matchmaking
2,000 Credit Pass
- All of the above, as well as immediate access to the first 20 tiers of the new pass
One of the most exciting parts of this new update is the debut of The Exchange. This popular in-game shop was first featured in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and allows players to purchase items with currency earned by completing challenges. A new currency called Spartan Points will be introduced in Halo Infinite, which will be earnable by completing Daily Challenges, Ultimate Challenges, or by leveling up the new Banished Honor operation pass. These Spartan Points can be used in the new Exchange shop to unlock items on a rotating basis.
Changes to certain game modes have also been made, with Ranked Snipers replacing Ranked Tactical, Rumble Pit replacing FFA Slayer, and Legendary King of the Hill being included in new rotations. In addition, Ranked matches will now automatically end if the game begins with uneven teams. Changes have also been made to Halo Infinite's collection of weapons, with weapons like the Gravity Hammer and Mk50 Sidekick getting nerfed, while other weapons received buffs, like Halo Infinite's Plasma Pistol. Players can now temporarily disable enemy vehicles with a charged Plasma Pistol shot, a fan-favorite feature that has been missing from Halo Infinite since release.
Looking further ahead in Halo Infinite's content update cycle, two very exciting operations are set to come out this summer. These new content updates will include the return of Halo Infinite's popular Tenrai event with Tenrai IV, which will be active between June 4 and July 2, and will include new Yoroi-themed rewards. Spartan Surplus begins on July 2 and will last through July 29. This free pass will feature a variety of new rewards based on previously released items in Halo Infinite.
