Halo Infinite has seemingly teased the return of a highly coveted Halo: Reach helmet in its next major update. Entire armor sets that appeared in the series' past games have been added to Halo Infinite since it was launched in late 2021.
Widely regarded as one of the best Halo games ever released, 2010's Halo: Reach was the last entry in the legendary franchise to be developed by series creator Bungie. Among other things, the title boasted improved graphics compared to its predecessors, added new features like the Armor Abilities mechanic, and expanded customization options for players. Halo: Reach also introduced many now-iconic Spartans and armor loadouts that have since been added to the series' latest mainline game, Halo Infinite. Recent marketing materials for Halo Infinite suggest that even more content from Halo: Reach, including a prestigious helmet attachment, is coming to the 343 Industries-developed shooter soon.
343 Industries Responds To Another Halo Rumor
The Halo community is restless with rumors the series is moving on from 343 Industries. The latest rumor has 343 commenting on the topic.
An image released alongside a recent announcement regarding Halo Infinite's upcoming Operation: Fleetcom update featured what appeared to be the infamous Haunted Helmet from Halo: Reach. The Haunted was an attachment for the Pilot helmet that featured a human skull behind the visor. Players could only obtain the Haunted Helmet for 1 Credit after making it to the game's highest rank, Inheritor, and purchasing every other helmet and attachment in the title. In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the Haunted attachment was a reward for reaching Tier 100 in the compilation's first season.
Possible New Armor in Halo Infinite Operation: Fleetcom
- Haunted Pilot Helmet (Halo: Reach)
- Operator Armor (Halo: Reach)
- Security Armor (Halo: Reach)
The image that was released alongside the Operation: Fleetcom announcement also showed off Spartans wearing what appeared to be the Operator and Security armor from Halo Reach, two loadouts that have yet to be added to Halo Infinite. Many kits from Halo: Reach ended up appearing in Halo Infinite, including the armor sets of the Noble Team members, who are considered to be some of the strongest Spartans in the Halo universe.
Operation: Fleetcom, which is set to go live on July 30, will see the return of the VIP and Headhunter game modes from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, respectively. The update will also deliver several quality-of-life improvements for Halo Infinite's Forge, as well as add more than 1,000 voice lines from the series' iconic multiplayer announcer, Jeff Steitzer, to the in-game editor.
Halo Infinite switched from Seasons to shorter Operations in early 2024. The latter system, which features a free 20-tier battle pass, usually runs for four to six weeks, unlike Halo Infinite’s previous Seasons that lasted between three and six months.
