Halo Infinite fans suddenly need to have their eyes on August 5, after Halo Studios detailed everything coming in the new Operation: Shadows update. With just a few days to go until the update launches, the developer has revealed that a fan-favorite vehicle from previous games is finally set to make a return in Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite has undoubtedly come a long way since its disastrous launch at the end of 2021. At the time, the game launched without staple Halo features such as co-op campaign and Forge mode, which put the game off to a rough start in the eyes of the community. With nearly four years of Halo Infinite updates since, the game is now an excellent experience, and continues to enjoy a wealth of support from Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries).

In a blog post on Halo Waypoint, Halo Studios unveiled everything players can expect to see in Operation: Shadows on August 5. The update is finally set to bring back the Falcon, a popular aerial vehicle that made its debut in Halo Reach but hasn't been seen since. The vehicle is set to be introduced via several existing Big Team Battle maps. There's a new Halo Infinite weapon, too: the Vestige Carbine, which can be used in “a new asymmetrical Slayer variant” named Banished Slayer. There's also a new Operation Pass, as is standard for each Halo Infinite Operation.

That's not all. Ten more weapons will be added to the Weapons Bench for additional customization from August 5, including the Plasma Pistol, Gravity Hammer, and the Stalker Rifle. Several Halo Infinite game modes are getting some important changes as well. Players will now be able to switch between first and third-person perspectives in Firefight matches, rather than having to queue separately. S&D Extraction is getting a couple of small quality-of-life changes to improve the experience in Halo Infinite's Counter-Strike-inspired game mode.

As part of the blog post, Halo Studios was also able to provide a hint towards the next few months of Halo Infinite. Operation: Warpath will launch on September 9, followed by Operation: Haloween, which follows on October 7. Beyond that, rumors continue to swirl about what Halo Studios has planned next. Many believe that a Halo: Combat Evolved remake is up next for the series, although nothing has been officially confirmed at this point.
