A clever Halo Infinite player has shown off an awesome play that offers an incredibly creative way to get kills with the Skewer. This Halo Infinite play might be a little lucky, but it takes real ingenuity to think of even trying this move in the first place.

The unique physics and how players can use them have always been a defining feature of the Halo games. Plenty of clips of players killing their enemies with cones in Halo 3 circulated in the early days of YouTube, and as the sandbox in Halo games have become more complex, these kinds of plays have become more impressive. For example, one Halo Infinite play showcased how the Repulsor equipment can be used to hilarious effect, thanks in part to the game's physics engine. It's part of Halo's identity, and really creates the feeling that creative players always have a chance in any given situation, provided they think outside the box.

Why the Halo CE Remake Rumor May Actually Be a Good Thing
Why the Halo: CE Remake Rumor May Actually Be a Good Thing

While new rumors of the Halo: Combat Evolved remake lacking multiplayer may be bad news for some fans, it could be a blessing in disguise.

A post on X from Rebs Gaming has highlighted a clip from player JCC Punisher, who fired the Halo Infinite Skewer into a man cannon. Another player had recently jumped into the man cannon, and the projectile was subsequently launched and followed the player in the air. Upon contact, it killed them immediately, resulting in a type of kill that Rebs Gaming has "never seen before." Even with Halo Infinite's dynamic sandbox, it's still impressive to discover new ways to kill enemies so long after release.

Halo Infinite Player Uses Man Cannon To Redirect Skewer Shot

The clip is a great example of the benefits of having a weapon use actual projectiles in-game, as opposed to a hitscan system where hits register immediately. It allows the projectile to interact with the game's various physics systems, resulting in an infinite number of moments just like this in different contexts. Sometimes, Halo Infinite weapons can interact with each other like this, too. The Gravity Hammer being able to redirect rockets is just one example of how this can work at times.

Halo Infinite is almost four years into its life cycle at this point, and attention will start turning to the future of the franchise. Rumors of a potential Halo: Combat Evolved remake persist, although Halo Studios has yet to officially acknowledge its existence. No timeframe has been given for when fans can expect official news about the rumored project.
