It would appear at face value that Agent 007 is in good hands, whenever the next James Bond movie is finally released.

Those anxieties started when Amazon officially took over the famous franchise and veterans of the series announced they weren’t going along with it under the Jeff Bezos tent. Then there were reports that while Amazon didn’t have a concrete plan, something like a James Bond shared universe could be one of the things that was front of mind. That had plenty of plenty of long-time fans worried that things were about to go from bad to worse. However, if the latest report that’s surfaced is accurate, it appears that there’s some reason to be optimistic about the franchise, no matter in what direction it goes and who next takes on the mantle.

James Bond Franchise Looks To Be In Good Hands With Hollywood Heavyweights Producing

Matthew Belloni of Puck News wrote on Thursday that Amazon might not have an entirely laid-out plan for what to do next with James Bond. The retail giant is seemingly putting some Hollywood heavyweights in charge of whatever direction the series goes next. Belloni said that the people in charge of the next installment will be quite the two-headed monster in the form of David Heyman and Amy Pascal.

Heyman has been one of the big names that have been rumored to be in the lead to take over the franchise since Amazon first took it away from Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson. Heyman has long been one of heaviest of Hollywood heavyweights as a producer as he was behind all of the Harry Potter movies. That kind of success should show that not only does he know how to make a successful movie, but he also has a unique expertise in long-running series.

Heyman has been one of the big names that have been rumored to be in the lead to take over the franchise since Amazon first took it away from Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson.

Amy Pascal has a long history of success as well with her latest big hits being the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. However, she had plenty of home runs even before she turned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When she worked with Paramount Pictures she was responsible for the development of films including, Groundhog Day, Little Women, and A League of Their Own. Of course, when it comes to the James Bond franchise it will definitely be the fact that she’s worked in the MCU that could be quite handy.

The deal with Amazon, Pascal, and Heyman isn’t official just yet. It won’t come close to being done until everything is finally done, and the James Bond franchise is fully and officially separated from Broccoli and company. However talks between the famed producers is reportedly moving forward apace. That they both have big time resumes and have even worked together on Barbie is an added bonus as Amazon takes on one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time.
