The Harry Potter TV reboot is going full steam ahead and has reportedly cast another vital role for its upcoming series on the small screen, but this time, fans will see something a little different as the spotlight shines on a part that isn't a witch, wizard, or muggle. Confused yet? Don't worry, it will make complete (and exciting) sense.
The TV adaptation of the Harry Potter franchise was confirmed by HBO Max in 2023 and is expected to run for a decade, with each season based on one of seven J.K. Rowling books. Harry Potter follows the story of an 11-year-old orphan boy who gets accepted to Hogwarts, a school of magic, on his eleventh birthday. While there, he learns of his incredible wizarding powers, which are then honed by the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, as he and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger help Harry in his attempts to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort. Warner Bros is seemingly committed to making the TV adaptation a roaring success from the get-go as it's reported to have cost £1 billion to expand the Leavesden Studios, which will include a real school, brand-new roads, and a new version of Privet Drive. However, it seems like one big part of the world-famous franchise was missing from the series that has now reportedly been filled.

Harry Potter TV Series Has Chosen Its Hogwarts Express
As reported by CinemaBlend, the Harry Potter TV show has found its Hogwarts Express in a beautiful 40-year-old steam locomotive that was actually saved from a scrapyard in 1978 and then got a stunning makeover for the Harry Potter adaptation. In a statement from the Buckinghamshire Railway Center, the company was beyond excited to see their train being cast in such an iconic franchise and took to their Instagram page to shout about how hyped they were. "We are extremely proud to share that our beautifully restored steam loco Wightwick Hall will play the role of the iconic locomotive for the Hogwarts Express in the highly anticipated Harry Potter television series!"
"Having once been bound for scrap metal, this stunning loco will now have the privilege of stepping up to play one of the most well-known steam locomotives in the world, and this collaboration will ensure its future for many years to come."
The Hogwarts Express played a hugely underrated role in the Harry Potter franchise as it delivered students to and from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Not only did it serve as a meeting point for Harry, Ron and Hermione, binding together a lifelong friendship, but it also served as an emotional key moment at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as the three now grown-up friends watched their own children board the Hogwarts Express, just as they had done previously.
As well as the elegant Hogwarts Express, the Harry Potter TV show could also be bringing on board a character from its popular books. A recent report stated that the producers are looking to cast a male arm amputee, which certainly sounds like Professor Silvanus Kettleburn, a wizard who taught Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Previous casting announcements revealed that John Lithgow would be playing Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore, and Janet McTeer as the next in line to play Professor McGonagall. As for right now, the Harry Potter TV series isn't expected to release until late 2026 or early 2027.
