Lethal Company takes players on an adventure through a retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic world. Players take on the role of contracted employees who work for an evil corporation named ‘The Company.’ They are tasked with collecting scrap from various abandoned and industrialized moons.

Whether they run into dangerous, otherworldly monsters or encounter intense environmental situations, players have to collect enough scrap to meet the Company’s profit quota. Lethal Company has a unique ranking system for each of its moons that tells how dangerous the area actually is. For those wondering what each rank means, this guide provides a quick explanation of Hazard Levels.

Hazard Levels are an indicator of how difficult an area is and give a rough idea of what kind of dangers players can expect on that moon. As a moon’s hazard level increases, so does the threat from the monsters inhabiting it.

In Lethal Company, there are seven hazard levels. These are listed below, from easiest to hardest.

Hazard Level: Safe

There is only one place in the game that is marked safe from all dangers and that is the Company’s building located on 71-Gordion. This is where players must come to sell their scrap.

The only threat here is Jeb, the junk-eating monster. If players ring the bell too many times, Jeb will attack them. Besides that, this area is completely safe.

Hazard Level: D

This is the lowest hazard level in Lethal Company, after Safe. It is available on one of the free moons, Assurance, which is crawling with fairly harmless creatures.

Hazard Level: C

Level C is where the game starts amping up the difficulty levels. This level is available on the moon Vow. It’s not super deadly, but players still need to be cautious when exploring.

Hazard Level: B

Three moons, namely, March, Offense, and Experimentation feature hazard level B. This is where things start to heat up – players can run into dangerous creatures and fall into lethal environmental traps.

Hazard Level: A

Players can find level A on the moon Rend. This is where things really start to get twisted. Monsters on this planet don’t hesitate to kill and players must focus on surviving rather than collecting loot.

Hazard Level: S

Players can encounter the second-highest hazard level S while exploring the moon Dine. It’s recommended that players only visit this moon with a strong team having their back.

Hazard Level: S+

The highest hazard level, S+ is available on Titan, where players will find the scariest and toughest of all enemies.
