How Many Expansion Tickets Can You Get, & When?

A player getting a Hobby Expansion Ticket as a reward for upgrading their D.G Membership to Level 2 in Heartopia

To get all 7 Hobby Expansion Tickets in Heartopia, you will need to upgrade the Developer's Guild Member Level. Each Hobby Expansion Ticket will be unlocked as a post-upgrade reward for the following D.G. Membership levels:

Level 2
Level 3
Level 5
Level 8
Level 11
Level 12
- Players will receive two Hobby Expansion Tickets at this level.

Since upgrading your Developer's Guild Member Level is a requirement for getting Hobby Expansion tickets, players will need to complete daily Resident Requests to gather enough Contribution Medals for upgrades. Players will have five Resident Requests daily, so you'll need to complete requests for several days to obtain all the required medals. You might want to prioritize these each day, as they expire when the Heartopia servers undergo their daily reset.

Players will also need to follow the game's story and complete the quests that introduce each new hobby. If you do not finish a hobby's introductory quest, you will not be able to unlock that hobby even with the Hobby Expansion Ticket in your inventory.

What Hobbies Should You Unlock First?

After upgrading your Developer's Guild Member Level and receiving a new Hobby Expansion ticket, you'll also receive a new quest. This quest will act as an introduction to the newly available hobbies.

Complete this tutorial quest and speak with the mentor you'd like to learn from. They will have a new dialogue option allowing you to learn their hobby. Select this option and hand over your Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock their hobby.

Your first ticket, which is given at Developer's Guild Member Level 2, must be given to Vanya to learn the Fishing hobby. Similarly, players are locked into giving their second ticket to Blanc to learn Gardening.

Unlike the first two tickets, your third, fourth, and fifth Hobby Expansion Tickets let you pick between Bird Watching, Catching Insects, and Cooking. The order you choose these hobbies will not greatly affect the story, so feel free to pick whichever hobby you'd prefer.

Since your final two Hobby Expansion Tickets are unlocked at the same time, you'll also unlock the final two hobbies, Cat Caring and Dog Caring, on the same day. After doing so, you will no longer receive Hobby Expansion Tickets from Developer's Guild upgrades.
