Gardening is one of the most relaxing and rewarding activities in Heartopia, and watering your crops is an important part of keeping your garden healthy. Well-watered plants grow better, produce higher-quality crops, and sell for more coins. Thankfully, Heartopia keeps the watering system simple and beginner-friendly, so you won’t need complicated tools or mechanics to get started.
All Flowers in Heartopia & How to Unlock Them
Flowers in Heartopia are all about patience, creativity, and connection. Here’s how you can have a garden of beautiful flowers.
How to Water Crops With Watering Can in Heartopia
Early in the game, you’ll be introduced to gardening through Blanc, a passionate plant lover who teaches you the basics. Once you unlock this hobby, watering crops becomes a daily routine.
To water crops in Heartopia, you first need to equip your Watering Can from the toolbox. Once it’s equipped, walk close to your garden plots. When you’re standing in the right position, you’ll notice that one of the plots becomes highlighted with white corner lines. This shows which plot you’re about to water.
After positioning yourself, simply tap or click the Watering Can icon. Your character will pour water over the selected plot, and you’ll immediately see the soil turn darker. This darker color is your visual confirmation that the crop has been watered successfully.
If you want to save time, Heartopia also allows you to water multiple plants at once. Instead of pressing the usual action button (like F), press and hold the Watering Can icon for a little longer. This lets you water multiple garden plots at the same time, making big gardens much easier to manage.
How to Fix Watering Can in Heartopia
Like most tools in Heartopia, your Watering Can will eventually wear down with repeated use. When this happens, you’ll need to repair it to continue watering your crops effectively.
One way to repair your Watering Can is by using a Repair Kit or Crafty Repair Kit. You can craft repair kits yourself or buy them from vendors in the city. If you prefer buying, head to Ka Ching, who can be found near the Suburban Lake. She sells a standard Repair Kit for 200 gold, while a Crafty Repair Kit costs two Wishing Stars.
If the soil in the selected plot you’re trying to water is already dark, it means it doesn’t need watering. You can water it normally when the soil looks dry or light brown.
How to Craft and Use Repair Kits in Heartopia
To craft a Repair Kit, you’ll need five branches. The crafting recipe is given to you by Bob, making it easy to unlock early in the game. Once crafted, the Repair Kit will appear in your backpack.
To use it, first equip a tool (like your pickaxe or watering can) from the toolbox. Then select the Repair Kit and place it on the ground. Stay close to the kit, and your equipped tool will automatically be restored.
