Heartopia provides players with more activities the further they manage to progress with their D.G. Level. As you upgrade your D.G. Level, you can paint, record music, and later on, you can even write books.
The process of writing and publishing your own books in Heartopia can be a tad confusing. There are a few steps involved before you can actually publish a book, and to avoid you tinkering for too long, we've created this guide to show you how to make your own books in Heartopia.
How to Catch Sulkowsky's Morpho in Heartopia
Sulkowsky’s Morpho is a rare bug in Heartopia. If you're struggling to find and catch it, we've got just the guide for you.
How to Write a Book in Heartopia
You can only start writing books in Heartopia once you reach D.G. Level 16. After that, you will unlock a few quests with Mrs. Joan. Once those are done, Heartopians can buy a writing desk from Ka Ching’s general store. You can pay for it using either Gold or Wishing Stars.
When you place the writing desk, you will also get a computer. This is where all the writing happens. Interact with the computer to open the book-writing screen. Click the plus icon, give your book a name, and you can start writing.
You can write about anything you like. It could be about the town, the NPCs, your pets, your hobbies, or just your own creative story. You can split your book into chapters and give each chapter its own title. Chapter titles can be up to 10 characters long, and the full book can be up to 4,500 words.
You can also add pictures to your book. These can be photos you took using the in-game camera or artwork you made on the drawing board. You can add up to 15 pictures in total. If you want to see how your book looks, use the eye icon to preview it.
To add a new chapter or remove one, click the three lines icon below the settings option. Inside settings, you will find options like paragraph spacing and first line indent. These only affect the published version of your book, not the draft you are still working on.
How to Publish Your Book in Heartopia
When you’re done writing your book, it’s time to publish it. Click the globe icon, then add your book’s title (if you haven’t already), a short tagline, and a description. You can choose to make your book public or keep it private. To publish, you need a Book Publishing Permit, which can be purchased with Moonlight Crystals.
Once a book is published, you cannot edit it.
After publishing, your book will appear at the book stall. You can also check out other books there. If you want to keep your book private, you will need to go back home, interact with the computer, and set it to private.
