Set in the backdrop of World War II, Hell Let Loose puts you in the thick of the battle and you need to play with your team to come out the victor. Whether you choose to go in as a Medic or any of the other classes available in the game, you'll most likely want a friend with you as you brave the trenches.

Playing with friends isn't as easy here as some of the other online multiplayer shooters out there. You can't create a lobby with your friends to queue for matches together, which means getting into the same game with your friend can be confusing. Don't worry, this guide will cover all the bases and help you figure out how to play Hell Let Loose with your friends.

How to Play With Friends in Hell Let Loose

Unfortunately, Hell Let Loose isn't a cross-platform game. That means, if you're planning on partying with your friends, you'll first have to make sure you're all playing on the same platform. Those playing on the PC can't queue with console players to keep things fair for everyone.

PC players can, however, play together regardless of whether they are using Steam, Xbox Game Pass (PC), or Epic Games.

Here are the different ways you can play with friends in Hell Let Loose:

Queue into the Same Server

When Hell Let Loose Turns Into Movie Scenes

The simplest approach to playing with friends is joining the same server. When you click on Enlist from the main menu, you'll see a list of available servers along with the maps they are being played on. Each server also displays its current player count, with a maximum capacity of 100 players per server.

You can also check your Ping on each server on this screen.

For the best chance of playing together, look for servers with around 70–80 players. Ask your friend to queue on the same server and wait until you get accepted. Once you're both in, you can choose to fight side by side in the same faction or test your skills against each other on opposite sides.

You can also click on the Friends tab in the Enlist menu to see if any of your friends are currently playing on a server.

Invite Friends Inside the Game

When you manage to get into a server with enough free space, you can hit the Esc button on PC to bring up the main menu. From here, click on Invite Friends and if any of your friends are playing the game, you can click on their names to send an invitation.

Your friend will receive the invitation (accessed from the main menu) and will join the server once they accept the invite.

Via the in-game Overlay (Same Platform)

If you've added your friend on the same platform, there's a convenient way to play together. Simply join a server with available slots and access your in-game overlay. From there, you can invite your friend directly from your friends list. The exact process varies by platform.

For Steam players, press Shift + Tab to open the in-game overlay. Find your friend's name, right-click it, and select Invite to Play to have them join your server.

This method also works for console players.

Rent a Server

The third option is renting your own server, though this comes with a cost. You can access this option by visiting the official Hell Let Loose website and clicking the Server Rental button found in the footer section.

While this option requires payment, it guarantees you and your friends can play together whenever you want, with the added benefit of controlling your gaming environment.

Alternatively, you can click on the Rent a Server button below the server list in the Enlist menu.

Hell Let Loose can be a tough game to get into. But with a couple of friends fighting by your side, things get a lot easier. With the methods we mentioned above, you should now be able to invite your friends to join you in this realistic tactical shooter and secure victory.
