Since the successful launch of Helldivers 2 last year, Arrowhead Game Studios has been open and direct with players about its plans for the game. Fans frequently pose questions to CEO Shams Jorjani in the Helldivers 2 Discord, and he is more than happy to respond, even if it's not always what they want to hear. As a live service game, Helldivers 2 lives and dies by keeping its player base happy over a long period of time, and this level of interaction is a crucial part of making fans feel like their voices are heard by the developer.

Over in the Helldivers 2 Discord, a fan asked about the possibility of armor color customization finally being added to the game. Jorjani responded by claiming that the developer is aware that it's "high on the list" for fans, but equally pointed out that "we want to take extra care with such a feature. Not rushing it until it's in a good place." While it's good to know that Arrowhead Game Studios is aware of fans' priorities, it doesn't sound like armor color customization is something players should expect to see in a Helldivers 2 update any time soon.

It's worth pointing out that Helldivers 2 has been looking into armor color customization for a while now, the last update coming in November 2024. Although the developer has done a good job of keeping fans happy by catering to their wants for the game, this is one area where they have been made to wait. Still, Jorjani's latest update implies that when it does arrive, it'll be worth the wait.
With Helldivers 2 continuing to go from strength to strength, fans have a lot to be excited about. Next month, Helldivers 2 is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S, which should expand the player base considerably. It continues to be a shining example of live service done right, and hopefully Arrowhead Game Studios is able to continue this trend by addressing fan demands.
