Arrowhead Game Studios thanks all Helldivers 2 players by gifting them the StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher stratagem for free inside the Armory. While 2024 has largely been a rollercoaster of highs and lows for both players and Arrowhead Game Studios, Helldivers 2 has enjoyed a lot of success and is ending the year on a major high note.
Following a massively successful launch earlier in 2024, Helldivers 2 experienced a number of ups and downs with its players, full of review bombings, a controversial PlayStation ID announcement, and updates that didn't always quite hit with players. However, Arrowhead continued to respond to feedback to improve the game and Helldivers 2 has again found a ton of success through its latest major update called Omens of Tyranny. To celebrate, Arrowhead Game Studios is giving all players a special reward.
Taking to social media on Christmas Day, the Helldivers 2 studio is thanking its passionate fanbase by giving all players access to StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher stratagem, which can be found within the Armory. The W.A.S.P. Is an anti-tank missile launcher, a support stratagem in Helldivers 2 that can fire seven lock-on homing missiles in Burst mode, or fire one rocket in Artillery mode which is good at clearing groups of enemies.
Helldivers 2 Players Get the StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher Stratagem
For PlayStation fans, the StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher may be a bit nostalgic as it is a weapon originally from Killzone 3. The stratagem was also revealed earlier in December as part of the Helldivers 2 and Killzone crossover, which also added new weapons, cosmetic gear, and two armor sets from the Sony franchise, like the AC-1 Dutiful and AC-2 Obedient.
While the crossover itself was received well by players, how it was being rolled out within the Premium Store was not. Pricing was much higher than many assumed, with both waves amounting to around $40 in total, essentially the price of Helldivers 2 at launch. Responding to player feedback, Arrowhead announced a change in plans for the Killzone crossover, gifting Wave 2 to all players and doubling the amount of time that Wave 1 would be available within the Superstore.
