On higher difficulties, the game can sometimes be very stressful due to the increased number of tactical objectives and enemies.
Helldivers 2 received a major update earlier this week, introducing some significant balance changes and fixing various issues involving cross-play. The game bumped up the level cap from 50 to 150, bringing two new planetary hazards, blizzards and sandstorms, that ramp up the difficulty. In addition, Helldivers 2 added some much-needed buffs to the Ballistic Shield, one of the most ignored stratagems. It now covers more of the player's body, which means it blocks more laser shots from the front.
One Helldivers 2 player, known on Reddit as ItsNuked, has discovered a clever trick to clear hordes of enemies with the HMG Emplacement. The player seems to have dropped an HMG emplacement on a Shredder Tank, turning their stratagem into a combat machine that turns 360 degrees. In order to reach the turret, they had to get very close to the Shredder Tank and climb on top of it without destroying the enemy or getting flattened themselves. Many Helldivers 2 players on Reddit were impressed by this clever trick, with some hoping that Arrowhead will increase the ammo capacity of the HMG Emplacement soon.
Although the turning speed on the HMG turret is low, players can use it effectively to kill all types of enemies. Using the aforementioned trick, they can eliminate the Shredder Tank and turn the tide in their favor. One thing to note is that this tank variant, which belongs to Helldivers 2's Automaton faction, only appears on higher difficulties.

Since the HMG Emplacement lacks agility, players should drop this turret at a good location to unleash its full potential. After reaching level 10, it can be unlocked with 10,000 Requisition Slips.
