What Is Liberation Percentage in Helldivers 2?

The Helldivers 2 map comprises numerous different sectors, each containing within itself a host of planets. While the specific number of sectors is not precisely known, it is estimated to be slightly more than 50 at the time of writing. In each sector, there's a liberation percentage indicating the portion of the area free from Automaton occupation. Each planet in a sector has its own liberation percentage, which can be checked easily.
