There's a variety of unlockable weapons in Helldivers 2, and each different piece of kit available can help players specialize in the roles or playstyles they want to use. The tactical options you can pick from here are vast, and it'll only get wider as the game evolves.
However, not all of these guns are available at the beginning of Helldivers 2. If you want to expand your arsenal, you'll first need to prove to Super Earth Command that you're worthy of carrying its tools to victory.
Updated February 12, 2025 by Marc Santos: The Helldivers 2 arsenal has grown significantly since launch. From only two Warbonds, the game now has 11, and it grows ever larger. This naturally means that players will need more resources if they want to unlock everything the game has to offer. We've updated this guide to include tips on how to farm Medals as well as Super Credits to help make the grind a little less harrowing.
How to Unlock Helldivers 2 Weapons
In order to get more primary and secondary weapons, you'll need to spend Medals at Warbonds from the Acquisitions Center. This is a major departure from the first game where most guns and stratagems were unlocked by leveling up or completing missions. This means you'll have to be extra mindful of where your Medals go, and you won't need to complete missions that are too easy for your tastes.
You can view the Acquisitions Center whenever you're on a ship by pressing the button that appears on top of the screen (R/Square/X depending on your input method). This opens up the store screen with the Warbonds tab as the home page.

How to Unlock Support Weapons
Heavy weaponry such as the Anti-Materiel Rifle and Recoilless Rifle can be unlocked by interacting with the requisitions terminal aboard your ship, which is found across the Helldiver cryo pod bay. Here, you'll be spending all the Requisition you earn from your missions to purchase Stratagems, including heavy weapons. All Support Weapons in Helldivers 2's launch are:

Farming Medals and Super Credits
As mentioned, players will need both Medals and Super Credits to purchase new guns in Helldivers 2. You can earn both through natural gameplay, but if you want to get as much of both as you can, you need to explore points of interest. Every POI in the game (marked by diamond-shaped icons on the map) has a chance to contain either Medals or Super Credits, with a very rare chance of getting up to 100 Super Credits per POI.
For Medals, we recommend completing Evacuate High-Value Assets missions. These are very easy, even on Super Helldiver — just make sure everyone in the squad brings turrets and some means of dealing with heavily-armored enemies, and you'll be good to go.
As for Super Credits, you'll have an easier time finding them on city maps, such as the ones frequently attacked by Illuminate forces (as pictured above). The layouts of these maps usually contain POIs that are close to each other, and since city layouts tend to be flatter, reaching those POIs will be much easier compared to the frontier-style maps. Bring a jump pack and a Fast Recon Vehicle if you can to make farming even faster.
