Helldivers 2 has had quite a journey. From becoming an immediate smash hit at launch to struggling with a dwindling player-base, the action-packed cooperative shooter has steered through both praise and criticism to improve the state of the game.
While even the best live-service games are expected to lose players after the first few months, Helldivers 2 only hit an all-time low after the PlayStation Network (PSN) debacle in its fourth month. Coincidence or not, forcing players to link their PSN accounts to continue playing left publisher Sony and developer Arrowhead facing a fierce backlash.
The low player-counts, however, can also be attributed to a lack of meaningful content and an unpopular series of weapon updates. The game becomes a grind after the first dozen hours. Everyone is tired of grinding the same missions on the same planets, beating the same enemies, and using the same weapons and stratagems because the others were heavily nerfed.

How to Refund Helldivers 2 on PC
Helldivers 2 is playable on PC via Steam, meaning a refund request must adhere to the same policies as other games. You must have clocked less than 2 hours of gameplay, and your request must fall within two weeks of purchase. However, even if you are outside those parameters, Valve is always willing to listen to why you want to refund a game. You only need a good enough reason. Hence, do not shy away from initiating a refund.
- Head to Steam Support and log into your account.
- Click on Purchases and then on Helldivers 2 under the "I need help..." Heading.
- Click on "I would like a refund" and confirm the request.
If you cannot see Helldivers 2 in the Purchases section, the game is ineligible for a refund. However, do not start sweating just yet.
- Scroll down the Steam Support page to view your complete purchase history.
- Click on Helldivers 2, the base game, not any of its DLC.
- Confirm that you would like a refund.

Something important to note is that the PSN requirement was obfuscated at release and waived for three months before becoming mandatory. - Select PlayStation Store Refunds and explain your situation during the live chat. It will probably be an AI-powered bot, but you can get through to an actual agent.
You will need a solid reason to explain why you want to refund Helldivers 2, especially since you are already logged into your PSN account. Showing solidarity with the Steam player-base will unlikely stand as a convincing reason.
