A new Helldivers 2 leak has revealed that Arrowhead may be gearing up to release a new enemy unit called the Observer—part of the Illuminate alien race. Players have just successfully completed the “Battle of Super Earth,” where they had to face the Illuminate, though this new leak could mean that the threat may not have been wiped out from Helldivers 2’s Super Earth completely.
Helldivers 2’s players have been really busy recently, as developer Arrowhead has been releasing all kinds of things for them. The latest major activity was the “Battle of Super Earth” event, where players had to make a community effort to beat the Illuminate. Although players are constantly treated to updates with new content and features, Helldivers 2 has been failing to satisfy a big portion of its player base, who were unhappy with certain aspects of the latest additions—which led the game to receive a “Mixed” rating on Steam reviews. Luckily for Arrowhead, many community members have been making an effort to reverse-review-bomb Helldivers 2, and now the popular game has “Mostly Positive” reviews again. Now, new leaks may be good news for fans.
Helldivers 2: The Illuminate Open the Door to a Fourth Faction, But Patience is Key
Helldivers 2 recently introduced its first post-launch faction with the Illuminate, and there could be even more on the horizon.
One prominent leaker, called Iron_S1ghts, has revealed the Observer, a new enemy belonging to Helldivers 2’s Illuminate alien faction. The leaker shared four images where the potential new enemy can be seen in action. The creature looks like the Watcher, but it can also shoot lasers—Iron_S1ghts said that if the enemy is eventually released, it would be the cultists' alternative to the Watcher. The leaker also explained that, while patrolling the map, the Observer sways its beam in the player's direction, though it can’t properly aim at its victims.
Helldivers 2 Leak Reveals New Illuminate Enemy Unit Called the Observer
The leaker said that they don’t have too much information about the Observer and that the enemy could be scrapped. Iron_S1ghts has been providing many Helldivers 2 leaks, and some of the recent ones include two new Illuminate enemies: a sniper-assassin that can teleport into battle and lunge at the player, and the Xenobite, which seems to be a faster, though weaker, variant of the Overseer.
It’s worth remembering that none of this has been officially confirmed yet, though Iron_S1ghts’s track record may offer some credibility to these leaks. What is indeed coming to the game is Helldivers 2’s long-awaited Review Bomb Cape. The Arrowhead CEO recently revealed this on the Discord channel but gave no release window for the cosmetic. With both officially and unofficially announced content, Helldivers 2 fans have a lot to look forward to.
