Helldivers 2 has had several ship upgrades hit the game as a surprise to players. Arrowhead Games released these upgrades alongside an update that includes a new warbond with a grenade pistol, armor, and more.
Helldivers 2 has been constantly updating with new major orders, new warbonds, new enemies, and a new mission type. Skilled players can now utilize some new ship modules that dropped with this most recent update.
There are six new modules available for players who have unlocked the previous ones. All of these upgrades were unexpectedly brought along with the recent Democratic Detonation warbond update.
New Helldivers 2 Ship Upgrades
- Superior Packing Methodology
Among the new modules is the Superior Packing Methodology found under the Patriotic Administration Center in the Ship Management menu. It strengthens the value of resupply boxes with the maximum number of carriable magazines. Unlocking this module will supply more ammo for weapons like the laser cannon, flamethrower, recoilless rifle, antimaterial rifle, and other support weapons.
- Atmospheric Monitoring
Another new module released is called Atmospheric Monitoring, which improves the overall Orbital HE barrage stratagems by reducing their spread by 15%. When choosing a loadout to fight the Automatons, it may be a good idea to try this module out when using orbital barrages.
- XXL Weapons Bay
A third new module is the XXL Weapons Bay, which appears in the Hangar section of the Ship Management menu. This new module adds another bomb to Eagle stratagems that use more than one in their airstrikes. Some players might think twice before choosing a ship module like this one before the other new upgrades, however, it can still be worthwhile.
- Enhanced Combustion
Enhanced Combustion is another new module, improving fire damage from all related stratagems by 25%. Players can combine the use of this module with the XXL weapons bay to further strengthen the use of an Eagle’s napalm for some devastating fire effects.
- Circuit Expansion
In addition to Enhanced Combustion, the Circuit Expansion module improves lighting arcs from weapons like the Arc Thrower and the Tesla Tower. This module will give those weapons the ability to jump to one additional target. Friendly fire is still affected by this, so players should be careful not to waste reinforcements by accidentally striking other Helldivers with them.
- Blast Absorption
Some fans love to use sentries on defense missions, like escorting personnel or eliminating an area of Automatons. One of the new modules, called Blast Absorption, gives those sentries a little more bulk. When this module is active, sentries take 50% less damage from explosions, adding a little more survivability for those wanting to build for higher-difficulty missions.
Overall, Helldivers 2 has added a lot of content in its over two-month run. The frequent updates have included two additional paid warbonds, many global challenges, and now these new modules for player ships. Players can start earning these new modules right away with any resources they have available.
