A new Helldivers 2 leak may have uncovered a new sub-faction that will make its debut in the near future. Called The Incineration Corps, these flamethrower-wielding Automatons are sure to cause headaches for players, joining the ranks of the numerous other enemy types currently featured in Helldivers 2. While an exact release date is unknown, with this new leak and others, it's clear 2025 could be another exciting year for Helldivers 2.
Released in early 2024, few games have been as instant of a success as Helldivers 2. Intended to be Sony's big live service game, developer Arrowhead Studios took the look, feel, and formula of its original Helldivers title from 2015 and flipped it on its head, ditching the top-down view and giving it a third-person makeover. Helldivers 2 is now over a year old, with the game boasting dozens of new content updates and features, all of which have helped to keep players interested. However, it's always exciting when Helldivers 2 gets new content, especially new enemies, with a new leak revealing what players can expect out of a seemingly imminent update.
Helldivers 2's Next Faction Could Turn One Illuminate, Automaton Structure On Its Head
If a fourth faction ever makes it into Helldivers 2, it may choose to have a unique take on a particular Automaton and Illuminate structure.
Helldivers 2 leaker Iron_S1ghts has discovered a new sub-faction called The Incineration Corps. This branch of Automatons wields flamethrowers and calls Matar Bay, one of Helldivers 2's numerous locations, home due to incendiary ammunition being active. The sub-faction boasts an intimidating description, which claims that they "will not resist until they have razed all that humankind holds dear." According to the leaker, there are multiple enemy types included in the faction, all of which use some type of incendiary weaponry.

An in-game screenshot reveals what these enemies look like, with the incendiary Automatons sporting a white and red color scheme. It remains unknown when these new enemies will make their Helldivers 2 debut. Helldivers 2 launched with two factions, Automatons and Terminids, both of which pose a very real threat to players. Co-op is key to survival in Helldivers 2, but so is picking the right weaponry and armor, with certain Stratagems and other tools being especially helpful when dealing with tougher enemies.
While the arrival of this new sub-faction is still up in the air, players can currently take part in Helldivers 2's most recent major content update, Omens of Tyranny, which made several big changes to the game. Alongside Helldivers 2's Terminids and Automatons, players can now also face off against The Illuminate, the newest faction to join the game. This update dropped at the end of 2024 and added a considerable chunk of new content to the game, with Helldivers 2 set to expand even further in 2025.
