Helldivers 2 CEO Shams Jorjani has bad news for players, after claiming the game's ongoing performance problems will take "many more months" to resolve. Even then, there's no guarantee that Arrowhead Game Studios will be able to fully fix the issues Helldivers 2 players are experiencing at the moment.
Helldivers 2's performance has been worsening for a few months now, and it's becoming an increasing problem for the community. Arrowhead Game Studios has already addressed these concerns a few times, and its position has always been that performance will be solved over a long period of time, rather than one "performance patch" that resolves the issues in one fell swoop. However, the longer the performance problems remain, the more frustrated players become.

Helldivers 2's booster meta is built atop a graveyard of soulless gameplay modifiers, and exhuming the worst of them may be questionable.
Helldivers 2 CEO Says Performance Won't Be Solved For a While Yet
Over in the game's Discord server, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani responded to a player asking about a potential Helldivers 2 performance patch. It's bad news, with Jorjani stating that "performance will take many many more months of work to get to even more meaningful improvement." Those hoping for Helldivers 2's performance to see noticeable steps forward any time soon may be waiting a while yet.
Although this may not be the news players want to hear, it's refreshing to have the CEO of the developer speaking so directly to fans in the Discord server. Jorjani frequently responds to Helldivers 2 fans on Discord, giving them updates on the live-service game's ongoing development. And with the nature of game development, this isn't always going to result in great news for fans.
Regardless, it doesn't seem like Helldivers 2 is going anywhere anytime soon. Last month, Jorjani confirmed that there are currently no plans for Helldivers 3, and the plan is to instead continue updating the current game for as long as possible, even comparing the game to RuneScape. Helldivers 2 might be in a tough moment, especially in regards to its performance, but no doubt it will bounce back with more great content in the future.
