Helldivers 2 Dev Reveals 'Mistake' With Python Commandos…

The community manager for Helldivers 2 offers a correction for the announced Python Commandos Warbond, while also providing new details on some of the gear. Helldivers 2 continues to seek improvements to the core experience, issuing new updates and fixes, while also balancing out adding new content for players to enjoy as well.

Earlier this week, Arrowhead Game Studios revealed a new addition to Helldivers 2's extensive Warbond DLC offerings. The set gives players new armor to wear, powerful new stratagems, the AR/GL-21 One-Two primary weapon, and plenty of added customization items to help personalize their Helldiver even more.

Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond Announcement Had a Mistake

However, the Python Commandos announcement for Helldivers 2 wasn't entirely accurate. On the Helldivers 2 discord channel, community manager Miitchimus provided a bit of a correction on the armor sets in this DLC, specifically the RS-20 Constrictor light armor and RS-40 Best of Prey.

The blog post mentions that each armor passive comes with Rock Solid, which "makes your Helldiver more steadfast against staggering and ragdolling attacks." However, Miitchimus admitted that was a bit of a mistake as the armor does offer Ragdoll resistance and a 100% melee damage bonus, but no resistance to stagger.

Armor corrections weren't the only piece of news Miitchimus provided to fans, as the dev also expanded upon some of the other items in the Warbond. Specifically, the AX/FLAM-75 “Guard Dog” Hot Dog drone has the same stats as Helldivers 2's FLAM-66 Torcher. The Chainsword known as the CQC-9 Defoliation Tool starts with medium armor penetration and goes up to heavy over time the longer it is used.

Finally, Miitchimus confirmed that the meaty looking M-1000 Maxigun is indeed very ammo hungry. However, they offered fans some potential solutions to get around it as players can pick up ammo to keep firing. Generous teammates can even offer supply packs to keep the gun firing, which Miitchimus likened to the player turning into a Helldivers 2 gatling sentry.

The new content will likely serve as a nice change of pace for players as Helldivers 2 continues to battle against numerous issues impacting the game. Game Director Mikael Eriksson admitted that the studio is taking a more measured approach to its updates, making sure to address problems before adding tons of new DLC content.
