Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony have partnered with Dark Horse Comics to produce a new line of physical replica helmets for fans to collect, and pre-orders are open now. Helldivers 2 is experiencing a huge surge of popularity in the wake of the game's recent Heart of Democracy update, which brought the battle to the in-game capital planet of Super Earth. In a wave of players unseen since the game's highest peaks, hundreds of thousands of Helldivers rallied to fight off an invasion of Super Earth by the Illuminate faction, teaming up with computer-controlled soldier NPCs to battle the alien "squids" in the streets of the game's urban centers. Right on time to ride the wave of "patriotism," Dark Horse Comics has unveiled a new way for players to display their "heroic allegiance" to Managed Democracy, in the form of a series of 1:4 scale replica Helldivers 2 helmets, which are available for pre-order from Dark Horse Direct or participating comic stores. Made from polyresin, the replica helmets are modeled after three in-game Helldivers 2 helmets, and are set for release in Q2 2026. According to Dark Horse, the helmets will sell for $59.99 USD each, though the two-helmet and three-helmet bundle purchase will net a $10 and $20 USD discount, respectively.

The scale replica helmets are based on three in-game armor sets. The first is based on the B01 Tactical armor, also known as the default, standard-issue uniform worn by most rookie Helldivers and SEAF troopers. The second helmet is based on the DP-40 Hero of the Federation set, which is available in the base Helldivers 2 War Bond. The third helmet is based on the AF-91 Field Chemist helmet, which launched alongside 2024's Chemical Agents War Bond. The Field Chemist helmet is notable in part for its resemblance to historical German military helmets used in World War 1 and 2.
Each helmet stands at roughly 4.5 inches (115 mm) tall and 2.5 inches (64mm) wide, sized for shelf display and distinguishing them from fan-made 3D printed Helldivers 2 helmets. Dark Horse also says they're "sculpted, prototyped and painted by the Ministry of Science-approved Substance Model Works."
The level of fan enthusiasm for Helldivers 2 and the reception to merch and art based on Helldivers 2 armor speaks to the game's level of popularity, which far outstrips that of the original Helldivers.
