Helldivers 2 is a popular co-op shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios where you step into the shoes of a Helldiver, an elite soldier protecting Super Earth from alien threats like Terminids and Automatons in intense galactic battles. The game portrays an ongoing battle between the protagonists and aliens and bugs to conquer and control each planet in the galaxy.
Teamwork is crucial in overcoming alien threats in this game, as the progress or liberation percentage of a planet depends on the combined efforts of all Helldivers. Consequently, learning about supply lines in Helldivers 2 is important as it can help players tilt the odds of the galactic battle in their favor. If you don’t know what supply lines are and how they work in Helldivers 2, this guide is here to help.
How Does Liberation Work in Helldivers 2?
Liberating planets from alien forces is part and parcel of Helldivers 2. Here is how the game's liberation system works.
How Do Supply Lines Work in Helldivers 2
Supply lines in Helldivers 2 are the connections between neighboring planets. To reach a specific planet, players must first control another world linked to said planet on the map. This means that you can't liberate a planet without first liberating one connected to it.
The same goes for Terminids and Automatons – they can only attack a planet if they have taken control of a planet in its supply chain.
Supply lines add an interesting layer to the game. However, they're not explicitly explained within Helldivers 2 itself, making it hard for the players to figure them out. Currently, a fan-made website called Helldivers.io provides a list of supply lines for each planet on the map. While not entirely accurate, it's still useful for players.
Why Are Supply Lines In Helldivers 2 Important?
The importance of supply lines became evident when Helldivers 2 issued a Major Order to liberate Fori Prime and Zagon Prime. However, since the supply lines to both these planets were cut off, fans couldn't complete the order.
Understanding the supply lines helps players prepare for Major Order in advance, and the community can plan which planets to prioritize to gain maximum advantage in war.
When all supply lines to a planet are cut off, it becomes unavailable for players to liberate and appears greyed out on the map. This will reduce the liberation percentage of that planet over time.
