A clever Helldivers 2 player has demonstrated a convenient new trick involving the new Warp Pack Stratagem. The Warp Pack is the latest Helldivers 2 Tactical Pack to be added to the game, and joined the playable arsenal on July 17.
Helldivers 2 continues to expand the options available to its players as the unending in-game war drags into its second year. Although the game launched in 2024 with just two enemy factions, 2025 saw the invasion of the Helldivers 2 Illuminate faction, a resurgent enemy from the original game that possessed advanced technology. The Illuminate proved to be a formidable foe that challenged many players and even weaponized Super Earth civilians, turning them into "Voteless" zombie hordes. The invasion culminated in an attack on Super Earth itself, a massive battle that the player community is still recovering from.
Helldivers 2’s Control Group Warbond Opens a Pandora’s Box It Can’t Close
If Helldivers 2's Control Group Warbond is meant to foreshadow future content, Arrowhead has a rare opportunity to double down on enemy factions.
Adversity can breed new advances, though, and as demonstrated by player klipwc on Reddit, the new, seemingly Illuminate-inspired technology of the Helldivers 2 Control Group War Bond is enabling some clever new tactics. In a clip shared with the community, klipwc showed off a particularly convenient feature of the new LIFT-182 Warp Pack Stratagem. The Warp Pack uses exotic technology to allow its wearer to instantly teleport short distances, bypassing enemies and obstructions. This effect even allows it to completely ignore a locked door. In this case, the locked door is the special one that seals one of the many resource bunkers found around the galaxy. Before the introduction of the Warp Pack, bunker doors were impenetrable, only accessed by having two players simultaneously press buttons on either side of the door. With the Warp Pack, though, a player can simply teleport to the other side of the door, plunder precious resources like Super Credits, Requisition Points, and War Bond Medals inside, and teleport back out.
Helldivers 2 Player Uses Warp Pack to Enter Sealed Bunker
Players were quite impressed by klipwc's trick, with many declaring that the functionality of the Warp Pack almost single-handedly makes Control Group one of the best Helldivers 2 War Bonds ever. Some even said that the Warp Pack could become the center of a new Super Credit farming meta, helping players obtain precious premium currency to buy War Bonds and cosmetic upgrades with.
A few players wondered whether the Warp Pack itself was potentially too powerful, given how convenient it was proving. Some suggested that its built-in chance to overheat and explode should be made more likely, making the use of a Warp Pack more for players with a daredevil spirit than a new meta-defining piece of equipment. A few players responded, saying that it's too soon to demand that the Control Group items be rebalanced, given that the War Bond has only been out a few days. Additionally, with Helldivers 2 potentially updating the Illuminate to become even deadlier, players may soon need all their gear operating at peak levels to beat the aliens.
