Since its release, Helldivers 2 has undergone many updates, but the game may have just seen its most significant one to date. The recent Galactic Emergency patch has stood out and grabbed players' and potential fans' attention, as it introduces a noteworthy change that's seen as something long overdue: the ability to customize weapons. Being able to modify much of the powerful equipment has certainly made Helldivers 2 more interesting to play, and with how it opens up interesting possibilities and opportunities, its implementation may be the best thing that has ever happened to the game.
When playing Helldivers 2, there are many choices regarding what primary weapons can be brought during missions. While there was certainly no lack of options, it always felt as if there was a way to improve each piece of equipment, and one way to do so would have been to allow players to personalize each one. Now, it has been made possible, as the game's recent update finally lets players customize their primary weapons with different patterns or attachments. Also, it's more than just a visual modification, as any changes implemented can affect a weapon's functionality in various ways. This has given a breath of fresh air to Helldivers 2 and its gameplay, and it would be interesting to see where Arrowhead Game Studios will take it.
Helldivers 2 Releases Emergency Update
An emergency update for Helldivers 2 is now live, addressing a major issue many players have been experiencing in the co-op title.
Why Helldivers 2’s New Weapon Customization Is Game-Changing
Arrowhead Game Studios is known for doing what it thinks is best for its creation and its players, and being able to customize the primary weapons in Helldivers 2 is perhaps one of the greatest things the developer has done to show that so far. Having it finally happen should be greatly appreciated by players, as it means a lot of significant things for them and the game:
- With Helldivers 2 requiring players to grind weapon experience to enjoy all the benefits of the customization, they now have something new to work towards, providing more incentive to play and enjoy the game.
- Given that each modification affects a weapon in different ways, players will be encouraged to test out equipment they may never have wanted to touch before, diversifying their loadouts and introducing them to new ways to do missions.
- As new patterns can change how a weapon can look, people can now create styles that they can truly call their own, helping them and the world of Helldivers 2 feel more unique with all the different possible looks.
Weapon customization has certainly changed Helldivers 2 for the better, and as great as it is now, there are still ways in which it can be improved. Hopefully, Arrowhead Game Studios will find more ways to make it even better in eventual updates, as players will look forward to anything that will allow them to have more fun than they currently do.
How the Concept of Helldivers 2’s Weapon Customization Can Be Taken Further
While the change has certainly brightened the future of Helldivers 2's primary weapons, that doesn't mean it should only affect that specific equipment type. Arrowhead Game Studios has the opportunity to extend the customization to secondaries and perhaps even throwables. Being able to affect their stats and functions will help to keep the game feeling fresh and exciting, as it means even more different things players can try out and experience during combat.
It doesn't have to end there, either, as the concept can be stretched further to the game's armor, allowing people to personalize how they're protected from threats. While such things will be difficult to implement, given that they would require proper balancing to ensure they don't break the game, they are worth pursuing, as more levels of customization can potentially attract more people into playing while keeping the current community satisfied.
Helldivers 2's weapon customization is hopefully the first step towards more ways that Arrowhead Game Studios will allow people to personalize their playing experience with its creation. Given just how much it has already positively impacted the game and how much potential there is still with it, there's the likely possibility that the developer has already made plans regarding how to push the idea further, making the game's future bright and exciting.
