Summary
- Helldivers 2 players should opt for the Redeemer or the Dagger over the P-2 Peacemaker pistol.
- The P-4 Senator revolver in Helldivers 2 disappoints with mediocre damage output and a slow firing rate.
- Helldivers 2 players should avoid investing Super Credits in the Punisher Plasma, as it can result in self-inflicted damage.
Helldivers 2 has an assortment of weaponry for players to use. In total, a player can hold three guns at once during a mission. These are primary, secondary, and support weapons. While each gun likely has an important role to play when taking on the Terminids or the Automatons, there are still weapons a player should watch out for and never consider taking with them on the field.
Helldivers 2: Best Missions To Do Solo
Helldivers 2 is mainly designed to be a co-op shooter, but solo players can still tackle many of the game's missions if they're up for a challenge.
These weapons can be found in the regular Warbond, as well as the two Warbonds available with Super Credits. Therefore, these are by far the worst weapons in Helldivers 2, and players should avoid purchasing them when looking at what guns to take with them to spread democracy.
7 AR-23C Liberator Concussive
Hits The Same But Slower
- Found in the Steeled Veterans Premium Warbond.
Although a tempting choice for some players in Helldivers 2, the Liberator Concussive is meant to be an assault rifle that blasts explosive rounds. While this explosive trait means the gun will do more damage to the vulnerable areas of foes, this gun shoots slower than the regular liberator and usually deals the same amount of damage.
With this in mind, it can make it a poor choice for dealing with a group of enemies, as players will need to be further away from their foes if they hope to not end up defeated on the floor.

6 R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper
Perfect For Long-Range Only
- Found in the free Warbond.
Although the Diligence Counter Sniper is supposed to be a modified and is therefore an upgraded version of the regular Diligence, many players would be better off sticking with the original.
Although this version is far better suited for dealing with distant foes, it lacks all the qualities of the original that made it perfect for close to medium range. The Diligence Counter Sniper is far too slow to be a reliable gun, with many players struggling to find a place to use it.

5 P-2 Peacemaker
Balanced But Better Options Exist
- Starting weapon.
Although players will be forced to use the P-2 Peacemaker at the start of the game, better secondary weapons exist that gamers are likely to get early when purchasing the various weapons available in the free Warbond.
Helldivers 2: All Boosters, Ranked
We're ranking every booster in Helldivers 2 from worst to best. Discover the top picks for optimal loadouts and effective team coordination.
While it is a balanced pistol that has a decent rate of fire, some players may feel the Peacemaker isn't fast enough and will look forward to changing out this one pistol for the Redeemer or even the Dagger, which make great secondary options when a Helldiver finds themselves in a tight spot.

4 LAS-5 Scythe
Primary Guns Need To Be Faster
- Found in the free Warbond
Laser weapons may seem like a great choice at first glance due to never needing to be reloaded. However, while they may hit continuously, the weapon is in dire need of some improvements before players should consider bringing along this option.
If the Scythe were to receive the same improvements as the LAS-98 Laser Canon did, then this weapon would have the potential to eat through both bugs and robots alike, with an even higher amount of armor penetration.

3 MG-43 Machine Gun
Better Supply Weapons Available And Early
- A starting supply weapon.
As mentioned, players can hold more than just their primary and secondary weapons in Helldivers 2. They can also use their stratagems to call down support weapons like the MG-43 Machine Gun.
As this is another starting option for players, there is no actual investment to be had in using this weapon, though players may wish to focus on taking other stratagems with them instead. This is because the Machine Gun is prone to eating through its ammunition rapidly and will quickly become outmatched as the player progresses through difficulties.

2 SG-8P Punisher Plasma
Leaves Helldivers Open Up Close
- Found in the Cutting Edge Warbond.
While players may be tempted to invest their Super Credits in the two premium Warbonds that are available, this shouldn't be for its weaponry. The
SG-8P Punisher Plasma sounds like it should be a lethal plasma weapon that should zap foes, but this couldn't be farther from the truth.
Helldivers 2: Best Light Armor, Ranked
Light armor offers increased mobility at the cost of damage protection. For players that prefer this playstyle, choosing the right light armor is key.
Although brilliant when dealing with a group of enemies from a distance, the explosive plasma damage starts to hurt both the player and their teammates if they get too close to the bullets. The lack of capacity also makes it awful for single enemies that are up close.

1 P-4 Senator
Weaker Than What A Revolver Should Be
- Found in the Steel Veterans Warbond.
When players are given a revolver in Helldivers 2, many expect a hard-hitting gun that makes up for how slow its rounds are. However, this doesn't appear to be the case for the P-4 Senator, which does mediocre damage compared to how slowly it fires.
Players can only shoot 6 bullets before they are required to reload. This can make dire situations near impossible with this secondary weapon, which might not kill a single foe during one whole round of shots.
