Hello Kitty Island Adventure is adding a wealth of new content to the game on September 18 as part of its first official expansion, Wheatflour Wonderland. The upcoming additions to Hello Kitty Island Adventure were revealed as part of the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, which featured a variety of announcement trailers for new game and content releases.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure initially released as an Apple Arcade exclusive back in 2023 before later being ported to PC and Nintendo Switch earlier this year on January 30. Several updates have come out following the game’s release, including the noteworthy 2024 update to Hello Kitty Island Adventure that added a new City Town region, new character Usahana, and the Imagination Cafe.

The first-ever DLC for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Wheatflour Wonderland, was announced by developer Sunblink during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on July 31. The DLC has been given a September 18 release date for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam at a price point of $14.99, with the expansion available for free to Apple Arcade subscribers. In addition to the Wheatflour Wonderland announcement, Sunblink confirmed Hello Kitty Island Adventure is being ported to PlayStation 5 on August 5.
New Content Coming to Hello Kitty Island Adventure
As shared by Sunblink, the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC will add the “largest new world since the game’s launch.” The expansion will also introduce a new befriendable Sanrio character, Cogimyun, who’ll offer “an unprecedented 35 levels of friendship” that grant new quests, abilities, and an exclusive furniture set. Players will also be able to meet Ebi Fry and Cogimyun’s brother, Cogimyon, who'll unlock new mini-games with various prize offerings, including themed furniture. Adding a little extra magic to the game, players will be able to create and customize magic wands that can be used to transform into “critters and items” and access new puzzles and challenges.
New outfits and accessories are being added as well that can be used to “transform into the Wheatflour Guardians of legend," along with 100 discoverable Wheathearts that can be exchanged at the Wheatheart Tree for themed rewards, plus new craftable noodle-based foods once players find the Noodle Grass collectible. Overall, Wheatflour Wonderland serves as the game’s most substantial content expansion to date — with more stuff on offer than was included with the recent City Classics update for Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
While the $14.99 price point for Wheatflour Wonderland may seem steep for some players, the scope of content appears to justify the cost for dedicated fans of the series. Wheatflour Wonderland is even more expansive than other themed updates, including the Under the Sea Celebration for Hello Kitty Island Adventure that released back in May with collectible Mermaid Scales that players could exchange for ocean-themed outfits. While the Wheatflour Wonderland expansion may be the first, it likely won’t be the last DLC release for Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
