Hideo Kojima appeared at The Game Awards 2023 to reveal his Xbox console exclusive horror game OD, which he is making in collaboration with Jordan Peele. Hideo Kojima first announced his collaboration with Xbox years ago, but details on the project have remained hard to come by. Some leaks have reportedly revealed some footage of Kojima's horror game ahead of time, but the project has mostly remained secret.
With the Death Stranding 2 reveal, some Kojima fans have been wondering if the legendary developer's Xbox game was being put on hold. After all, the Death Stranding 2 reveal trailer showed a game that is seemingly far along in development, while virtually nothing has been shown of Kojima's horror game. While fans still haven't seen proper gameplay of Kojima's horror game, they now at least have a new trailer that has revealed some members of its cast.
The Hideo Kojima horror game OD remains shrouded in mystery, but fans now know who will appear in the project. Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier have all been confirmed for OD, though their exact roles have yet to be detailed. In the meantime, it was also confirmed at The Game Awards 2023 that legendary horror director Jordan Peele is working with Kojima on OD, which bodes well for the project, to say the least.

Fans will no doubt be wondering what exactly OD is, and unfortunately, the answer to that question remains elusive as ever. It was teased during The Game Awards that the Kojima horror game will use Xbox's cloud technology and will be an "immersive" experience. It was also teased that OD will be "something no one has ever seen before." Kojima stressed that OD is very much a video game, but at the same time, it's also a movie and "a new form of media." Jordan Peele added that OD is "unlike any other game. It's going to be crazy."
It's unlike any other game. It's going to be crazy.
Hopefully more information on the Hideo Kojima horror game comes sooner rather than later. Hideo Kojima fans have been waiting to play a horror game by the acclaimed game developer since his PT project blew away expectations nearly a decade ago. OD may not be the Silent Hills project that Kojima originally imagined, but it will still be his first full-fledged horror game, and so it's still an incredibly exciting project nevertheless.
