Summary
- A Hogwarts Legacy sequel should include new spells, such as the Patronus Charm, though that might also mean including Azkaban Prison.
- The Confundus Charm and Serpensortia could provide unique gameplay opportunities in Hogwarts Legacy 2.
- The Reductor Curse may offer versatile options for both combat and removing obstacles in the game.
Hogwarts Legacy may have 34 spells for players to learn and use, but that's only around a third of the total spells featured in the Harry Potter book series and films. However, in light of recent developments that confirm a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is a top priority of Warner Bros., Hogwarts Legacy 2 might be the best place for those spells to be realized.
Assuming Hogwarts Legacy 2 eventually sees the light of day, it should consider adding a handful of spells that aren't in the first game. These spells range from combat-oriented spells to others that would assist in exploration, making them perfect for Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Spells Hogwarts Legacy 2 Should Include
Hogwarts Legacy Absolutely Cannot Forego the Inclusion of the Patronus Charm
The Patronus Charm is likely the spell at the top of players' wish lists for Hogwarts Legacy 2, as many were hoping to see it in the first game. However, there are plenty of reasons why Hogwarts Legacy wouldn't include the spell in the first place, with its use against Dementors being chief among them. Dementors serve almost exclusively as guards of Azkaban Prison, despite being released in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. As such, Hogwarts Legacy would need to take players to Azkaban for there to be a need for the Patronus Charm to even be included in their list of spells.
Nevertheless, given how much Hogwarts Legacy's omission of the Patronus Charm has disappointed fans, Avalanche Software might be remiss to exclude it from a sequel as well. There are over 140 different Patronus Charm forms, including the famous stag Patronus shown in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, so the sheer number of options available would allow players a unique way to customize their character in Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Since character personalization was a big aim of Avalanche Software in the first game, adding the Patronus Charm in the next game seems only right.
The Confundus Charm Would Be an Excellent Addition to Hogwarts Legacy 2's Combat Spells
The Confundus Charm would undoubtedly be a fun way of toying with enemies in Hogwarts Legacy 2, especially when it comes to any stealth segments it may have. When cast, the Confundus Charm causes great confusion in the target, tricking them into believing something about their surroundings that isn't actually true. Perhaps it could work similarly to Fable's Confuse spell, which causes inflicted enemies to attack their allies. In any case, the Confundus Charm deserves a place in Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Serpensortia Would Give Players a Temporary Battle Companion in Hogwarts Legacy 2
The Snake Summons Spell, otherwise known as "Serpensortia," would be an incredibly unique spell to add to players' spell books in Hogwarts Legacy 2, as it allows the caster to summon a serpent to fight alongside them. Hogwarts Legacy doesn't include any summoning spells like this, so it would be a welcome surprise in Hogwarts Legacy 2, especially if the sequel's combat ends up being more difficult than the first game's. Serpensortia might also allow players to distract their enemies and buy them some time to escape.
The Reductor Curse Could Be Useful in Battle or for Removing Obstacles in Hogwarts Legacy 2
If the Reductor Curse, also called "Reducto," were to be included in Hogwarts Legacy 2, it could serve multiple uses. In the Harry Potter series, Reducto is noted as being able to destroy solid objects, shattering them into pieces. In light of that, Reducto might not only be one of the most devastating attacks in Hogwarts Legacy 2, but it could also be used to clear paths blocked by large objects like walls, rocks, and trees.
There are countless spells a Hogwarts Legacy sequel could include, but the Patronus Charm, the Confundus Charm, Serpensortia, and Reducto are among the most desirable. These four spells would give players unprecedented combat options, as well as an advantage in traversal and exploration.
