It’s hard not to get lost in the massive world of Hogwarts Legacy thanks to the sheer amount of spells, potions, puzzles, and quests. When it comes to quests, it's split into two types; the main ones that are crucial for story progression, and side quests that aid players in building a stronger connection with NPCs. In the side missions, players will help NPCs solve their problems to receive generous rewards.
Ghost of Our Love is a side quest in Hogwarts Legacy introduced to players after accepting a certain request from various NPCs, as it all depends on the chosen House. The quest itself is not particularly hard or time-consuming, but it does require solving the secret of a mysterious map to reach the correct location.

Updated on November 19, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Ghost of Our Love is a unique quest as there isn’t a default method to trigger it in Hogwarts Legacy. Once players complete the required step, which is finishing the Trials of Merlin quest (13th main quest), a new quest will trigger that depends on the players’ chosen House in Hogwarts Legacy. Eventually, players will meet Richard Jackdaw and find a map that leads them to the treasure location.
Ghost Of Our Love Quest In Hogwarts Legacy
To complete the Ghost of Our Love side quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players need to trigger the quest by picking up a map and then finding the location drawn on it. Upon closer inspection, the map shows four different clues:
- The forest on the left corner with a crescent moon indicates the time, which is at night.
- The Forbidden Forest entrance drawn in the top right corner of the map indicates the location.
- The wand in the middle hints at Lumos to make candles appear.
- The bridge at the bottom of the map is where supposedly the candles will spawn upon using Lumos.
With these clues in mind, follow these simple steps:
- If it’s daytime, open the Map section and change the time to nightfall.
- Fast Travel to the Forbidden Forest’s waypoint that’s near the entrance, which is southwest of Hogsmeade on the World Map.
- Turn around to see a stone bridge.
- Walk towards the bridge and cast Lumos once the protagonist is close enough.
After that, a bunch of floating candles will appear and players have to follow them into the Forbidden Forest until they reach a clearing full of candles and a table for two which is basked in a romantic glow.
Shortly after, a chest suddenly appears containing an outfit, which marks the end of the side quest, Ghost of Our Love. The protagonist gets 400 Galleons and 180 XP as rewards in Hogwarts Legacy.
How To Trigger Ghost Of Our Love Quest In Hogwarts Legacy
To trigger the Ghost of Our Love side quest in Hogwarts Legacy, make sure to progress through the main quests until players receive an owl that will trigger the quest corresponding with their house. The map is located somewhere in each one, so here’s where to find it depending on all four exclusive House quests:
