By detaching their in-game camera, a Hogwarts Legacy player has made an interesting out-of-bounds discovery. While Hogwarts Legacy still has plenty to surprise players with, this particular detail couldn’t have been found without the use of a third-party tool.
Since it was released over two months ago, gamers have been discovering plenty of incredible details that Avalanche Software has included in its Wizarding World title. One player even noticed a kitchen detail in Hogwarts Legacy that has some gross implications. The game has managed to quickly make its mark on the gaming community in a way that not many have done before, and it’s exciting to see what gamers will discover next. There just seems to be no end to the new discoveries, and long may it continue.
This particular detail was found by Redditor MayDay521, who found that by using a tool to detach their in-game camera in the Room of Requirement, they were able to locate Hogwarts Legacy’s Vivarium. It’s interesting to see how the developers have had to come up with a creative solution to allow players to seamlessly transition from one area to the next, and it seems this gamer has found exactly how they do it. Loading the Vivarium away from the player and flashing the player’s screen white upon entering it creates the illusion of a seamless transition when gamers are instantly transported there.
Some in the thread pointed out that the same solution is used for cutscenes that show different locations in other games. The tool used to discover this particular instance is called the Universal UE4 unlocker, and can actually be used in any game that uses the Unreal Engine 4 engine. The use of this tool will no doubt result in even more Hogwarts Legacy secrets being uncovered by gamers, and hopefully, they’re shared online for others to see exactly what’s hidden from players.
While gamers continue to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy, developer Avalanche Software remains coy on any future content for the game. However, it seems as though Warner Bros. Intends to capitalize on the success of the title, with the recent announcement of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Even if Hogwarts Legacy is left as it is, it seems that the Harry Potter universe is set for a true resurgence in the mainstream, which hasn’t really been seen since the movie series concluded back in 2011. While the Fantastic Beasts series carried the torch for a while, it ultimately wasn’t a massive success for the franchise as a whole.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming May 5 and a Switch port dropping July 25.
