For years, Harry Potter fans have spent much of their time exploring Harry's story throughout Hogwarts. With Hogwarts Legacy, they were finally able to tell their own story within that world, which made for a fantastic adventure. Now, all eyes are on what Avalanche will do next with the concept. While there are many routes that it could take a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, whatever form it comes in, the studio needs to make sure customization is top-notch.

Because Hogwarts Legacy is an original Wizarding World story, players were given so many tools to customize their character and their experience within Hogwarts. So, if Hogwarts Legacy 2 wants to pull players in, it may need to ensure that it offers just as much customization. If it really wants to make its mark, the studio might even have to take all those options to new heights.

The omission of quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy is definitely puzzling, leaving a gaping hole for the inevitable sequel to fill.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Needs to Take Customization to the Next Level

Hogwarts Legacy Gave Players So Much Customization

From the start of Hogwarts Legacy's magical journey, players are given the tools to create a witch or wizard. They choose from a large catalog of presets, fine-tuning many aspects of that character. They have control over the face shape, hair, complexion, eyes, and eyebrows, and even the voice. Along with that, there are various extras they can toss onto their character, like glasses and scars. Once they decide on their character's name, they are plunged into the Wizarding World for an adventure filled with even more customization opportunities.

The game also gives them Harry Potter's Room of Requirement to furnish to their liking. They can fill this room with all sorts of furniture, from simple couches to massive potion and plant crafting tables. Additionally, they also unlock various rooms that they can fill with all sorts of magical beasts they gather throughout the open world.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Will Have to Do Even Better

With Hogwarts Legacy 2, Avalanche needs to ensure that it brings back both of these pivotal features. But, sequels are also supposed to take things to the next level. So, the studio may need to expand all of these options considerably if it wants players to take notice.

When players jump into the eventual sequel, many will likely want to be given even more control over their experience. They may want more sliders to alter other aspects of their character, more control over the next iteration of a possible Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy 2, and the ability to take their creativity to other parts of Hogwarts' grounds.

Expanding upon the in-depth customization of Hogwarts Legacy is easier said than done. However, thanks to what it did with Hogwarts Legacy, the studio may not have much of a choice in that matter as players will be expecting it to go bigger and better. In the meantime, it's anyone's guess what Avalanche has planned.
