The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy will finally be available on November 14, marking one of the biggest days for the popular action-RPG since its initial launch earlier this year. 2023 has been largely dominated by Hogwarts Legacy, with the Harry Potter action-RPG earning rave reviews from critics and establishing itself as one of the best-selling new game releases of the year. In fact, Hogwarts Legacy stands a decent chance at being the absolute best-selling game of 2023 by the time it's all said and done.

Hogwarts Legacy was a massive sales success out of the gate on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, breaking records and becoming one of Steam's most-played games for 2023. However, Hogwarts Legacy's story didn't stop there. On May 5, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy dropped, giving those on older hardware the chance to start their Hogwarts adventures.

Prior to their launch, there were some concerns that the last-gen versions of Hogwarts Legacy would be wildly inferior to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, but thankfully, that wasn't the case. While the developers certainly had to make some minor tweaks to get Hogwarts Legacy running well on PS4 and Xbox One, the ports were still very well-received. The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy will be an even bigger challenge, and it will be exciting to see if it lives up to expectations when it releases on November 14.

  • Hogwarts Legacy Switch Release Date: Tuesday, November 14

So far, practically nothing has been shown of the Switch port of Hogwarts Legacy. The Nintendo Switch version of the game was originally supposed to release this past summer, but its release date was ultimately pushed back to give the developers more time to make sure the Switch experience lives up to the high bar set by the other versions of the game. The Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy will no doubt have to make some sacrifices if it wants to perform well on the Switch, but it remains to be seen just how extensive those sacrifices will be.

There is some cause to be concerned about the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy. After all, Warner Bros.' Own Mortal Kombat 1 has a horrid Switch port with vastly inferior graphics and a multitude of glitches and performance problems not found in the PlayStation and Xbox versions. Some fans may be worried that the Hogwarts Legacy Switch port may have a similar fate, but then again, many had the same concerns about the PS4 and Xbox One versions and were proven wrong.

Regardless of how it turns out, the Nintendo Switch port of Hogwarts Legacy ensures that November 14 is going to be a massive day for the action-RPG. With no Hogwarts Legacy DLC planned, perhaps the developers can increase their focus on the inevitable Hogwarts Legacy sequel once the Switch port is out the door.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version dropping on November 14.
