The Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy have received a new update for July 2024. Avalanche Software just recently released a new update for Hogwarts Legacy that specifically targeted the version of the game available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

The latest Hogwarts Legacy update for current-generation platforms fixed issues with Photo Mode and addressed various other problems with the game, while acknowledging that some of the game's crashing issues still need to be addressed. In the meantime, an update was also released for Hogwarts Legacy on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Avalanche Software has released patch notes specific to the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, as well as patch notes about what all was changed in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

For the most part, the update for Hogwarts Legacy that rolled out on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One is similar to the update that was released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. It fixes problems with Photo Mode and addresses various lingering issues in the open world Harry Potter action-RPG. For instance, Hogwarts Legacy Switch gamers should notice fewer collision problems after downloading the latest update, as well as fewer crashing issues. The version of the update released for PS4 and Xbox One improves the game's stability, and like all the other July 2024 updates, fixes problems that players have been dealing with when trying to use Photo Mode.

Hogwarts Legacy added Photo Mode as part of its big June 2024 update. Photo mode is a feature that many Hogwarts Legacy fans have been asking to see in the game since its 2023 launch, so it's great to see that it's finally available in the game. Unfortunately, another highly-requested feature hasn't been added to Hogwarts Legacy, and at this point, it seems unlikely that it will ever make its debut.

For the longest time, fans have been asking for Hogwarts Legacy to let them manually change the seasons in the game. If players finish Hogwarts Legacy, they are stuck in a springtime version of Hogwarts, whereas some prefer the holiday decorations found in the fall and winter versions of the castle and the surrounding grounds. There will be future Hogwarts Legacy updates aimed at fixing the game's glitches, but fans shouldn't hold their breath for a significant content update. The developers seem to be mostly focused on their next project, which is rumored to be Hogwarts Legacy 2.

Developer notes – This is a hot-fix patch aimed to fix a few persistent crashes. Several lighting, collision and functionality issues that have popped up within the newest Photo mode have also been addressed. Multiple other bugs have been fixed.

Localization:

  • Fixed incorrect Arabic translations of circular taped glasses pop-up reward screen.

Photo Mode:

  • Fixed instance where collision would be missing around the stone bridge on the way to Hogsmeade.
  • Fixed instance where collision would be missing on several mountains around the coastal region.
  • Fixed instance where collision would be missing on several mountains around Hogwarts’ south region.
  • Fixed instance where collision would be missing on several mountains around Hogwarts north region.
  • Fixed instance where the HIDE NPCs option would not work with Poacher Animagus enemies during their transformation.

Talent Reset:

  • Fixed instance where incorrect currency amounts would be displayed in the Talents Tab.

Gameplay:

  • Fixed multiple instances where map pointer for treasures would be misplaced when drinking the Felix Felicis potion.
  • Fixed instance where Felix Felicis potion would use the same tool slot as the broom and could not be equipped while the broom is usable.

Avatar:

  • Fixed instance where Female Avatar fifth complexion would appear indistinct from another option in the character creator.

Stability:

  • Fixed instance where the game would crash when opening Photo Mode right after interacting with the Ancient Magic Door.
