Hollow Knight: Silksong not only provides a world that's satisfying to explore, but also a cryptic story that surprisingly conceals a great deal. There's even more than one Silksong ending to discover, meaning it even offers replayability on top of the Steel Soul (permadeath) mode. Once players unlock the secret Act 3, they must soon journey to the depths. Here's a guide on Abyss map location, how to reach the Abyss, and how to escape it in Silksong.

The Abyss Map Location In Silksong
The Abyss map in Silksong is located right on top of the southern bench. After reaching the checkpoint, find an opening to the top, then jump there. Next, head a little bit to the left to claim the Abyss map. Now, the areas that Hornet has discovered on the way to the bench will immediately be available.
Unfortunately, the Abyss map will only open after players go through the pitch black depths, so there's no way to use it before then.
How To Reach The Abyss In Silksong
Reaching the Abyss in HK Silksong is no easy task. After entering Act 3 in Silksong, Hornet will be determined to fix the disaster that falls upon Pharloom, and for that, she needs to reach the cause of the disaster in the depths, which will cause her to volunteer on a journey to the Abyss.
To reach the Abyss, she requires help from those who know how to forge a vessel that can withstand the journey. For that, players must journey to the Deep Docks and find the Forge Daughter, symbolized by the vendor icon on the map. However, upon speaking to her, she will tell Hornet that the one she needs is Ballow, the worker next to her. Speak to Ballow in Silksong, who's working right next to Forge Daughter, and he will agree to help Hornet.
Head to the old diving bell and speak to Ballow to begin your ascent to the Abyss. If you've never explored this part of the Deep Docks yet, then you must take a long detour before you reach Ballow's next location.
Enter the diving bell and travel to the Abyss. Once there, Hornet must find a way to the southern bench, where she will meet a familiar figure shortly after.
How To Escape The Abyss In Silksong
To escape the Abyss in Silksong, players need to get the Silk Soar skill first. Find a way up, and on the top-right, there will be a door that can be opened using the 
Needolin skill. There, keep descending to get the Super Jump ability required to get out of the Abyss.
After obtaining the Super Jump, backtrack to the route taken previously, but this time, additional routes will be available to the left, with a bench at the end. Make sure to rest on this bench, as the next part of the exit is unforgiving and may take a few tries.
It's highly recommended to remove auto-targeting tools like Cogfly before proceeding from the bench, as the tool may kill enemies required for the platforming.
