Players will first roll credits in Hollow Knight: Silksong at the end of Act 2. However, by completing a secret Wayfarer Wish called Silk and Soul before approaching the fight with Grand Mother Silk, they'll be able to unlock the game's secret third act, Abyss.

Act 3 of Hollow Knight: Silksong adds additional story content as well as a bunch more bosses for players to test their skills against. They won't need to achieve 100% completion to unlock the game's final act, although they will need to tackle a significant portion of the game's side content.
How to Unlock Silk and Soul in Hollow Knight: Silksong
In order to unlock the Silk and Soul Wish, players will first need to complete every possible Wish, including the ones on the wishboards in Songclave, Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and The Citadel. After doing so, they'll need to speak with Pavo in Bellhart to be awarded their very own Bellhome, which can be found at the top of the area. Finally, they'll need to collect at least 25 fleas and then get Fleamaster Mooshka to move the flea caravan three times so that it ends up in the Putrified Ducts area. With all that done, they can head over to Songclave and speak with the Caretaker, who'll share his plan to bring an end to Grand Mother Silk's reign of terror once and for all.

Some players have reportedly been able to start Silk and Soul without completing every Wish. Unfortunately, we're not yet sure which ones are required and which ones aren't, but can say with certainty that Silk and Soul can be triggered once players have completed all of the wishes listed above.
How to Complete Silk and Soul
- Speak to the Maiden in the Bone Bottom area to get the Maiden's Soul. You may need to sit on the Bone Bottom bench to trigger the second Skull Tyrant fight to make her show up.
- Speak to the Bell Hermit in the pipe beneath the Bellhart Bellway to get the Hermit's Soul. You'll need to destroy a fake wall on the right side of the Bellway room to get down there.
- Pick up the Seeker's Soul from the abandoned bellhome to the left of the bench at the top of Bilewater.

Get the
Snare Setter
from the table in the area above the bench in Weavenest Atla. To access Weavenest Atla, you'll need to open the Needolin door beneath Bone Bottom.
- Return to the Caretaker in Songclave and hand over the four components needed to make the trap.
It's possible to get the Snare Setter and the Seeker's Soul before triggering Silk and Soul, so players may find that they've already completed these requirements upon starting the wish.
How to Start Act 3 of Silksong
With all of the requirements for Silk and Soul completed, players should head to the top of The Cradle. Just before reaching the area where they fight Grand Mother Silk, they'll run into the Caretaker, who'll explain that the trap has now been set, and that all players need to do is play Needolin to trigger it. It's then just a simple case of completing the boss fight as normal and then choosing to play Needolin instead of binding Grand Mother Silk.
Doing so will result in players getting the third of Silksong's five main endings, after which they'll be returned to the title screen. However, when they come to load up their save file again, they'll find that it's now covered in some strange black vines. Pressing the action button multiple times will cause these vines to break, allowing them to load into the save file and begin the third act of Silksong.
