Fairly early in your journey, you'll meet Nuu, an NPC who will task you with cataloging all 234 essential entries in the Hunter's Journal, which they'll give you. How to Get the Hunter's Journal in Silksong
Locate Nuu in Greymoor:
After completing the opening sections of Hollow Knight: Silksong, you'll eventually reach the Greymoor area. As you head west after bursting through the barrier from Far Fields, you'll encounter a location called the Halfway Home. In the upper section of the Halfway Home, you'll encounter Nuu. How to Complete the Bugs of Pharloom Quest in Silksong
Exploration and Progression:
Once you have the Hunter's Journal, Nuu will ask you to begin filling it out. This results in the "Bugs of Pharloom" wish being initiated. The goal in this quest is to locate 100 different creatures throughout Pharloom. It does not matter which 100 you discover, as long as they are found.
There isn't necessarily a 'best way' to complete "Bugs of Pharloom." Once you promise Nuu and accept the quest, every new enemy you kill will count towards the goal. This means the only real option this early in the game is to continue to explore Pharloom. The more thoroughly you explore, the faster you'll complete the quest.
Bugs of Pharloom Reward:
For completing "Bugs of Pharloom," you'll receive a Crafting Kit Expansion upgrade. This increases the amount of each tool that Hornet can carry and craft.
How to Get the Hunter's Memento in Silksong
Complete the Hunter's Journal:
Once you've completed "Bugs of Pharloom," the next step is to finish all 234 basic entries in the Hunter's Journal. Technically, there are 237 possible entries, but only the basic 234 are required to complete the journal and collect the Hunter's Memento.

To complete the Hunter's Journal, you'll not only have to locate each enemy, but defeat them enough times to fully complete their entries.
Farsight – Knowing Your Completion Percentage:
If you wish to know exactly how many of the 234 entries you've completed, you'll need to locate Silksong's Farsight item. It is found in Weavenest Absalom in the Abyss, which can only be entered in Act 3.
