With seven unique crests and over sixty different tools to choose from, Hollow Knight: Silksong gives players plenty to think about when it comes to builds. Upon reaching the game's final act, they may even feel a little burdened by the breadth of these choices, as understanding how each tool works and which ones pair well together can require a lot of experimentation.
How to Unlock Hollow Knight Silksong Act 3
Players will need to complete the Silk and Soul wish to unlock the secret third act of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This guide explains how.
Thankfully, we've done all of the legwork already and have come up with what we believe is the best possible Hollow Knight: Silksong build. Most of the components for this setup are available in Act 2, but the pièce de résistance can only be acquired in Silksong's final act, so this Act 3 / end-game build may not be viable for those who are just starting out on their adventures through Pharloom.
The following Act 3 Silksong build guide assumes that players have already obtained both Vesticrests by speaking with Eva in the southeastern part of Weavenest Atla.
What's the Best Possible Build in Hollow Knight: Silksong? (End-Game Build)
The best Silksong build makes use of the
Shaman Crest, which allows players to equip three Silk Skills at the same time. Players can find the Shaman Crest in the Ruined Chapel area of the Moss Grotto, although only after they've unlocked the Silk Soar ability down in the Abyss. The first Silk Skill that we'll be pairing with the Shaman Crest is
Pale Nails, which players can get by binding Grand Mother Silk's arm at the top of The Cradle after during Act 3.
As for the other two slots, players will want to use
Sharpdart and
Cross Stitch, both of which can be obtained much earlier on in the game. They'll get the latter after beating the Phantom boss fight in the Exhaust Organ area of Bilewater, and can get Sharpdart by binding the statue behind the Needolin door on the west side of the Wormways.
Assuming players already have both Vesticrests and have used Memory Lockets to unlock the two blue slots on the Shaman Crest, that should leave three blue slots and one yellow remaining. The
Compass is an easy pick for the yellow slot, as it makes traversing the world of Pharloom infinitely easier. The
Volt Filament also picks itself, as the electric charge that it imbues Silk Skills with is what makes this broken Silksong build so deadly.
Players have a bit more freedom when it comes to the last two blue slots, although we highly recommend the
Weavelight (obtained by beating the Moss Mothers boss fight in Weavenest Atla) for silk regeneration and the
Wispfire Lantern (obtained by beating the Father of the Flame boss fight in Bellhart) for dealing passive damage. Depending on how many Spool Fragments you've collected, you may want to swap out the Wispfire Lantern with the
Spool Extender.
The resulting build allows players to dish out a ridiculous amount of damage to bosses by spamming shock imbued Silk Skills. Although Pale Nails will be doing most of the heavy lifting, Sharpdart can still be useful for quickly getting behind enemies and dodging attacks, while the Cross Stitch Silk Skill can be used for parrying. The Compass and Wispfire Lantern are mainly there to help with general map traversal, although the latter can still be useful during boss fights.
