Team Cherry recently shocked the world by announcing the release date of its highly anticipated sequel just weeks ahead of launch. While this came as welcome news to many gamers eagerly awaiting the metroidvania, the impending release of Hollow Knight: Silksong has caused several other studios to delay the launch of their own titles. Games like Baby Steps and Aeterna: Lucis were recently delayed to ensure that they don't come into immediate competition with Silksong, which will likely captivate many players upon its release. While some games were only delayed by a couple of weeks, other titles, like Aeterna: Lucis, were pushed back all the way to 2026.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Confirms Ultrawide Support

In a recent post on Twitter, Matthew Griffin confirmed that, for PC players, Hollow Knight: Silksong will fully support ultrawide aspect ratios up to 21:9 when it releases on September 4. Matthew Griffin recently joined Team Cherry to provide marketing and publishing support ahead of the game's release and during its post-launch period. Many players were ecstatic to hear about the support for ultrawide screens, giving numerous PC players the ability to enjoy the game at their preferred aspect ratio. Team Cherry also recently confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will retail for $19.99 when it makes its debut, surprising some fans who expected it to be sold at a higher price point.

In addition to hitting digital storefronts, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on Xbox Game Pass. Those who subscribe to the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass will have access to Hollow Knight: Silksong on day one at no additional cost, which was originally announced back in 2023.
