A new developer update from Team Cherry, the team behind Hollow Knight: Silksong, has recently been shared on social media. Given that many fans have been patiently waiting for the sequel to the popular indie title since it was announced, gamers may not be pleased with what the development team has to share regarding Hollow Knight: Silksong.Ever since the sequel was revealed in 2019, fans seem to have had high expectations for Hollow Knight: Silksong. This is understandable, given how well-received and successful its predecessor was when it first came out in 2017. However, Team Cherry has been tight-lipped about the Silksong's release date or launch period, even forgoing any new updates in the most recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Now, it seems that the development team is ready to address the fan base's concerns and used social media to make their announcement about their upcoming title.RELATED: It's Been So Long Since Hollow Knight: Silksong Was Announced That Its Website Has Expired On Twitter, Matthew Griffin, who is handling PR and marketing for Team Cherry, shared news about the release date of Hollow Knight: Silksong. According to the post, the video game was meant to be released in the first half of 2023, but the team has decided not to push through with it. Griffin reassures the fan base that development is still ongoing, likely to curb the community's fears of the project suddenly being discontinued. According to Griffin, the title has "gotten quite big" and that the team is very excited about what is in store for players to discover when Silksong is finally released.

Unfortunately, no announcements have been made for a release date or even launch period for Hollow Knight: Silksong. Despite the lack of more concrete details, replies on Griffin's Twitter post were mostly positive and encouraging. Many fans were more concerned about the quality of the game being produced and some even wished for the whole team to take care of themselves. Given how infamous the game development industry is with crunch times during production, the community seems to wish for the welfare of the team behind Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Griffin did state that more Hollow Knight: Silksong details will be shared once development is closer to releasing the video game. Hopefully the team will give more frequent updates and be more active on visible channels like social media. The community will probably appreciate hearing more about how the development of Hollow Knight: Silksong is progressing and will highly anticipate more news about the indie title in the future.
