How Does the Multibinder Work in Silksong?

When equipped, 
Multibinder replaces Hornet's default 3-mask heal with a 4-mask heal for the same amount of Silk, but nearly doubles the time it takes for the healing animation to finish. Multibinder does not recover all 4 masks at once, but rather heals 2 masks twice in quick succession, one after the other. This animation cannot be canceled mid-way, and locks Hornet in place for the entire duration of the heal.
Because the heals are separated into two parts, Multibinder has the advantage over Hornet's default healing in that if it is interrupted during the second 2-mask heal, the first 2-mask heal still counts, meaning you either get 0 heal, 2 heals, or 4 heals. For comparison, without the Multibinder, being interrupted during the Bind animation completely nullifies all healing, leaving you with either 0 or 3 heals.

Multibinder is a situational pickup for players who like to play defensively, and it shows its value in certain boss encounters. Although the longer binding animation time is a punishing downside, it can be mitigated with the right build. In particular, the Multibinder pairs extremely well with the Warding Bell, an early-game Tool that is very easy to get.
Warding Bell protects Hornet from receiving damage while healing, but it doesn't stop the healing from being interrupted. As mentioned before, Multibinder heals in two parts, and if players are interrupted during the second part of the heal, Warding Bell protects them from damage while still letting the first 2-mask heal register. Because the Multibinder’s initial 2-mask heal is faster than the default 3-mask heal, this gives players a chance to restore health in situations where they otherwise would've been interrupted.
Players can reduce the downsides of Multibinder even more by using the Injector Band, a Tool that reduces bind time. Injector Band can be found in Whiteward, below the Choral Chambers in Act 2 of Silksong.
Should You Buy the Multibinder in Silksong?

While Multibinder is definitely useful in certain scenarios, it's hard to justify spending 880 Rosaries on it for players who aren't immediately planning on using it in their build. Farming 800+ Rosaries in the early game is possible, but it still requires a significant time investment.
Since better farming locations open up as players progress through Silksong, it makes sense to wait until at least Act 2 to purchase the Multibinder. The Bellhart vendor will keep all of their stock up for sale throughout a playthrough.
