It was eventually confirmed for additional platforms as well, including the Nintendo Switch 2. And now fans know exactly when to expect Hollow Knight: Silksong, as it's been confirmed that the game will definitely release in 2025.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Window Locked Down
One of the first announcements at Gamescom Opening Night Live was the confirmation that Hollow Knight: Silksong would "100%" release in 2025. A specific release date for the highly-anticipated game wasn't announced, but it was confirmed that Team Cherry will be hosting a stream on August 21 to show off more Hollow Knight: Silksong. Maybe the event will include a reveal of the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date, but that remains to be seen.
Besides confirming that Hollow Knight: Silksong will 100% launch in 2025, Gamescom Opening Night Live also featured a brief look at fresh gameplay. In the footage, players can see Hollow Knight: Silksong protagonist Hornet platforming in a poisonous, swampy area, as well as fighting a variety of enemies, and what appear to be twin bosses. Based on the footage and what's been shown of Hollow Knight: Silksong in the past, it definitely seems like the game will live up to the high bar set by the original.
While Hollow Knight: Silksong didn't get a substantial trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, it is reassuring to know that the game is "100%" launching in 2025. With the game playable on the Gamescom show floor and a big presentation planned for August 21, here's hoping that fans learn even more about Silksong soon. The big news fans are still waiting for is a release date, but with 2025 locked down as the Hollow Knight: Silksong release window, fans at least know that the game will be available within the next four months.
