In addition to the six equipable Silk Skills found under the Tools menu, Hollow Knight: Silksong players can obtain eleven Ancestral Arts for Hornet as they make their way through Pharloom. Doing so will unlock permanent skills and abilities, allowing the princess-protector to run faster, jump higher, and hit harder than ever before.
Where to Find All Area Maps in Hollow Knight Silksong
Finding all 28 Silksong maps unlocks the Cartographer Achievement and will make traversing the world of Pharloom a whole lot easier for players.
Ancestral Arts are spread out pretty evenly throughout the game, with five becoming available in the very first act. Although a few of them are optional, most are required for traversing the map, so figuring out the locations of all of the skills and abilities in Hollow Knight: Silksong should be pretty high on players' to-do lists.
How to Get the Swift Step Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Swift Step Ancestral Art by binding the statue in the northern part of Deep Docks. Swift Step allows players to dash by holding the back right trigger and also opens up a few interesting offensive options.
How to Get the Drifter's Cloak Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can obtain the
Drifter's Cloak by completing the Flexile Spines Wish for the Seamstress in Far Fields. The Drifter's cloak allows Hornet to glide gracefully or ride up strong gusts of wind.
How to Get the Cling Grip Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Cling Grip Ancestral Art by binding the statue in the northern part of Shellwood. Cling Grip allows Hornet to wall jump and temporarily hold onto walls. However, if players equip the
Ascendant's Grip tool, they can hold on indefinitely.
How to Get the Needolin Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players will unlock the
Needolin Ancestral Art after beating the Widow boss fight in Bellhart during Act 1. Needolin can be used to open special doors around Pharloom and also interact with certain NPCs.
How to Get the Needle Strike Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Needle Strike Ancestral Art by agreeing to train with the Pinstress in the Blasted Steps area. Needle Strike allows players to perform a charge attack.
How to Get the Clawline Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Clawline Ancestral Art by binding the Statue in the Cauldron area of the Underworks. Clawline works a bit like a harpoon or grappling hook, and can be used to latch onto walls and enemies alike.
How to Get the Faydown Cloak Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can obtain the
Faydown Cloak by playing Needolin while standing near the statue at the most northerly point in Mount Fay. The Faydown cloak gives players the ability to double jump.
How to Get the Beastling Call Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Beastling Call Ancestral Art by beating the Bell Eater boss fight, which becomes available after players attempt to summon the Bell Beast during Act 3. Players can use the Beastling call to instantly travel to the Bell Beast, which makes fast traveling in Silksong a lot easier.
How to Get the Silk Soar Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Silk Soar Ancestral Art by binding the statue in the Weavenest Absolom area of the Abyss during Act 3. Silk Soar is basically a super jump, allowing Hornet to reach previously inaccessible areas.
How to Get the Elegy of the Deep Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players will unlock the
Elegy of the Deep Ancestral Art after completing the Spell Seeker main story quest during Act 3. Elegy of the Deep allows players to use Needolin to travel into the past when played in certain spots.
How to Get the Sylphsong Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Players can unlock the
Sylphsong Ancestral Art by binding Eva in Weavenest Atla during Act 3. Before they can do so, they'll first need to find and fully upgrade all seven Silksong crests. After unlocking Sylphsong, players will find that their Silk is refilled when they rest at a bench.
