The popular sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse boasts a wide variety of characters for players to choose from when building their party, sporting unique playstyles and personalities. Star Rail currently features more than fifty characters in its playable roster, with new cast members being added with each update to the game. Now, a fan-favorite character is quietly seeing a major change.
Argenti first debuted in Honkai: Star Rail as a playable character with the launch of the game's Version 1.5 update in December of last year. Introduced as a member of the Knights of Beauty, Argenti launched as a Physical Erudition character, offering heavy AoE Physical damage for players picking him up. Argenti also recently received his first re-run during the second half of Star Rail's Version 2.3, alongside new Quantum character Jade. However, fans of Argenti may notice a major change in the character with future updates to the game.
In an unannounced change to HoYoverse's website caught by prominent community member hxg_diluc, Honkai: Star Rail has reportedly replaced the voice actor for Argenti. According to the website, Argenti will now be voiced by Talon Warburton with Argenti's previous voice, Adam Michael Gold, no longer listed. Gold also provided the voice for Huohuo's companion, Mr. Tail, who has seen their listing changed to show Aaron Veach as the new voice actor. An official reason for Gold's departure from the role has not been given by HoYoverse.
Honkai: Star Rail Replacing Argenti Voice Actor
While the change in Argenti's voice was sudden and unexpected, the shift will not be the first recent debacle surrounding Honkai: Star Rail's voice cast. Upcoming Version 2.5 character Moze has already seen a change in his voice role before his release, with voice actor Chris Niosi stepping down from the role following fan backlash. Niosi had previously found himself in hot water for allegations of sexual misconduct, being dropped from the role of Byleth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and replaced with Zach Aguilar.
The replacement of Argenti's voice actor in Honkai: Star Rail brings into question the status of Argenti's past voice lines.
