Honkai: Star Rail players are now waiting for version 2.1, during which they will commemorate the game's first anniversary. According to the information provided by leakers, free-to-play players will receive at least 20 free pulls in the next update.

In version 2.1, Honkai: Star Rail players will get access to new Penacony-based characters, Acheron and Aventurine, that hail from the Nihility and Preservation paths, respectively. As confirmed by the developer team, Gallagher will appear in an event banner in the upcoming version. Additionally, Honkai: Star Rail will bring back some fan-favorite characters, such as Fu Xuan and Topaz. Based on calculations, the version 2.1 update will go live on March 27.

A comprehensive Honkai: Star Rail chart, shared by naocanyo on Reddit, shows the most popular characters for version 2.0 of the Pure Fiction mode, revealing that Ruan Mei, Sparkle, and Huohuo have the highest utilization rate. Fu Xuan, Himeko, Luocha, and Tingyun have made their way to the top 10 list alongside Jing Yuan and Herta. Honkai: Star Rail's Black Swan, on the other hand, is also among the most used characters for the Pure Fiction mode.

Introduced in version 1.6, Honkai: Star Rail's Pure Fiction is a multi-stage, permanent mode in which players must collect as many score points as possible by defeating a wave of constantly respawning enemies. As with the Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction requires Trailblazers to create two teams and select a buff for each of them to dive into combat. Though the early stages of this endgame mode are relatively easy to clear, players might be defeated many times in later stages where they encounter the hardest enemies.

Honkai: Star Rail's Pure Fiction Gives Away Bountiful Rewards

Upon clearing Pure Fiction stages, players will be rewarded with points they can exchange for Stellar Jades and more lucrative items. In addition, they can get a free copy of Lynx by completing Stage 2 of the mode. Players who want to add the four-star Quantum unit to their roster must defeat several formidable enemies in the second stage, including Frostspawn and Ice out of Space.

Speaking of Pure Fiction, Honkai: Star Rail's version 2.1 will supposedly bring some tweaks to the combat mode. Trotters, elite enemies, and bosses will drop fewer points, which means players will have to clear more stages to earn the same rewards. Besides, Pure Fiction will allegedly see changes to its enemy lineup in version 2.1 to make later stages harder to clear.
