Code of Chivalry is one of those achievements in Honkai: Star Rail that players only tend to notice once they start desperately searching for any avenue to get more Stellar Jade for just one more roll.

It's an 'Eager for Battle' Achievement which is the category of achievements in Honkai: Star Rail with the most tasks overall that don't require a ton of effort or time investment. So, let's go over exactly how players unlock their own Code of Chilvary and the best tactics to do so

How To Obtain Code Of Chivalry

First of all, let's just quote the achievement text verbatim to go over the task at hand; 'Defeat Gepard without defeating the Silvermane Guards that were summoned'

Now, anyone who has been stuck on any difficulty of World 3 in Herta's Simulated Universe can verify that Gepard (Complete) isn't exactly a boss that players can just 'ignore' the summoned mobs and still survive reliably (unless they're overleveled or have some truly overpowered characters). Thankfully, this isn't the only place to find Gepard and it's assuredly not the best way to unlock the achievement overall.

Which Gepard Is The Best To Fight & Where To Find Him

Just like with Svarog's Eager for Battle achievement, there are three places to encounter Gepard (as a boss) overall:

  1. At the end of the 'Travelers on a Winter Night' Main Story Quest.
  2. The (Boss) Variant in the Forgotten Hall, as the first encounter of Memory 15.
  3. The (Complete) Variant at the end of Simulated Universe World 3 on any Difficulty.

Out of these three locations, the most reliable place to unlock this achievement is by fighting his (Boss) Variant in the Forgotten Hall. This is because most players have likely already passed the Story Quest by the time they learn about this achievement (and he rarely summons more Guards during that encounter), and his (Complete) Variant in the Simulated Universe is much more difficult to handle.

So, since the Forgotten Hall Variant of Gepard is the best route, the rest of this guide will use him as the baseline. But, for those who want to try and get it in the Simulated Universe, here are just a couple of pointers:

  • His Garrison Aura Field works differently in the SU and is basically a faux-DPS race to see if players can get rid of it before Gepard wipes them out using his damage-ramping Frigid Waterfall attack each turn.
  • Always go for the Difficulty 1 version, and try to be as equipped as possible, both in being overleveled and having a team comp full of his Elemental Weaknesses.
  • Preservation-focused Blessing builds tend to work the best as it usually takes at least a couple of turns to get rid of the Aura Field, and Preservation makes it easy to last through that.
  • Make sure to have reliable healing and good team order, as in don't put the squishy characters next to the tank since the Silvermane Cannoneers have AoE attacks.

Now, getting back to the (Boss) Variant of Gepard, this version of him is actually rather easy to get the achievement with thanks to his Garrison Aura Field being heavily nerfed mechanically and Gepard only has one Phase (though two 'rounds' of enemies) instead of 3. So, here are the steps to easily defeat him while leaving all of his summoned Silvermane Guards alive:

  • There will be a wave of Guards before Gepard shows up, a Gunner, two Cannoneers, and a Soldier to be precise, these don't impact the achievement as players literally need to get rid of them for Gepard to spawn.
  • Right after they're defeated, Gepard pops in with a Gunner and a Cannoneer, these are the Silvermane Guards that need to stay alive for the achievement.
  • From this point, just focus all DPS on Gepard, and make sure to use the character with the best Break Effect or the highest DPS character to Weakness Break him, as this is where a large portion of his damage comes from.
  • It might be worth bringing a character that can remove Debuffs like March 7th or Natasha, as allies can get frozen relatively often during the fight leaving them pretty open to Gepard's Smite of Frost or Fist of Conviction.
  • The best characters to bring, in order, are Natasha, Bailu, March 7th, Trailblazer (Fire), Gepard, Sushang, Clara, Silver Wolf, Pela, Trailblazer (Physical), Welt, Arlan, Serval, Tingyun, Dan Heng, Yanqing, Sampo

And that's about all there is to it! Overall, compared to some of the other 'Eager for Battle' achievements, this one is a cakewalk, especially for 10 Stellar Jade.
