Not only two new areas, but Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 also comes with several new Elite foes to beat. For instance, players can try their hand at defeating Malefic Ape, or farm The Ascended to obtain character Ascension materials in Honkai: Star Rail.

Similar to Phantylia the Undying’s Destruction Lotus, The Ascended also has the ability to Siphon players' HP, which means she blocks the maximum recoverable HP a character can get and takes their health away while at it. Fortunately, some tricks (like bringing a cleanser and knowing when she’ll use this unique move) exist to ease the process of beating The Ascended in Honkai: Star Rail.

How To Beat The Ascended In Honkai: Star Rail

Beating The Ascended in Honkai: Star Rail is not difficult if players pay attention to her Siphon skill. While fighting this open-world boss, players will have to fight The Ascended along with two Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius, but in the Desolate Depths of Despair mission, the boss is accompanied by one Ballistarius and one Internal Alchemist instead.

Unlike most minions in Honkai: Star Rail, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius has 90 Toughness, which means it’s slightly harder to break it. Fortunately, its attack is not deadly as it simply deals Lightning DMG randomly. Additionally, they also can’t revive like the Mara-Struck monsters.

As for The Ascended, most of her move sets are typical damage skills where she either hits single, random, or three targets. However, it’s worth noting that she applies Wind Shear with these attacks.

Meanwhile, the boss’ special move is when they enter the "Japa" state. If players fail to beat or crowd control the enemy, the next move would be a Siphoning HP, which decreases maximum recoverable HP by 30%.

If the character has 70% or less HP, they will simply lose the max recoverable HP, but if they have more than 70%, the unit will lose HP along with the blockade. Note that although it targets all characters, it still has a hit chance, so the boss may miss some units. Additionally, cleansing helps remove this debuff.
