Best Light Cone |
Jing Yuan's gameplay in Honkai: Star Rail focuses primarily on his Lightning Lord, which, like many other abilities in the game, is considered a follow-up attack. However, as there aren't many Light Cones that offer a boost to follow-up attacks, picking the best Light Cone for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail may be tricky.
Honkai: Star Rail – Sunday Ascension and Trace Materials
Sunday is a Harmony-Imaginary character in Honkai: Star Rail whose ascension materials primarily come from Penacony.
Fortunately, Jing Yuan benefits from more than follow-up attack DMG bonus. For instance, there's an Erudition weapon that boosts universal DMG, or those who simply increase ATK. To summarize, here are the best Light Cones for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail.
Updated on December 27, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Erudition characters are known for their specialty in dealing AoE damage in Honkai: Star Rail, which places them in a rather niche position since not all content in the game revolves around multiple enemies. However, when it's their time to shine, they truly shine, which explains why more and more characters of this Path are released over the versions. Since more units are now available, so does the list of Erudition weapons, which is why this Jing Yuan best Light Cones article is updated to include some of the newest equipment available.
10 Make The World Clamor

S1 Passive |
The wearer regenerates 20 Energy immediately upon entering battle, and increases Ultimate DMG by 32%. |
Make the World Clamor is not the most optimal weapon for Jing Yuan, but it's nice for players who just want to chill around the open world and farm Calyxes as it allows him to regenerate Energy at the start of the battle. However, as Jing Yuan generally won't use his Ultimate often, players should not use this weapon for him in a long term.
9 Sagacity

S5 Passive |
When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases ATK by 48% for 2 turn(s). |
Although Sagacity is a 3-star weapon in Honkai: Star Rail, it can perform better than Make the World Clamor for Jing Yuan as the large 48% ATK boost lasts for a decent number of turns, which will also enhance Jing Yuan's Lightning Lord. Of course, eventually, it's best for players to replace it with a 4-star weapon, especially at a higher Superimpose level.
8 The Seriousness Of Breakfast

S5 Passive |

Increases the wearer's DMG by 24%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer's ATK increases by 8%, stacking up to 3 time(s). |
The Seriousness of Breakfast is a F2P weapon; players can get one from the main quest, opening the triple authentication door in Honkai: Star Rail, or buying one from the Forgotten Hall shop.
Honkai: Star Rail - Sunday Build Guide
Sunday is built relatively similarly to characters like Sparkle or Bronya in Honkai: Star Rail.
Because players can obtain two effortlessly, it's safe to say that people may already have a Superimpose level two of this Light Cone. The Seriousness of Breakfast is great for Jing Yuan for its universal DMG bonus; the ATK buff is a little situational, but considering it's not limited to a set amount of turns, players can greatly benefit from it too, especially against bosses that continuously spawn minions.
7 The Day The Cosmos Fell
HP |
ATK |
DEF |
|---|---|---|
952 |
476 |
330 |
S5 Passive |
Increases the wearer's ATK by 24%. When the wearer uses an attack and at least 2 attacked enemies have the corresponding Weakness, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 40%, lasting for 2 turns. |
The Day the Cosmos Fell is an amazing Light Cone for Jing Yuan if players fight enemies with Lightning weakness. It gives a 24% ATK boost unconditionally, and a massive 40% Crit DMG. Since the weapons is F2P, players can easily get it to S5 by grinding end-game content such as Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, and the Apocalyptic Shadows.
6 Geniuses' Repose
HP |
ATK |
DEF |
|---|---|---|
847 |
476 |
397 |
S1 Passive |
Increases the wearer's ATK by 16%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 24% for 3 turn(s). |
Geniuses' Repose is unfortunately a gacha Light Cone, which means it may fall behind compared to S5 of the F2P The Seriousness of Breakfast or The Day the Cosmos Fell. However, at equal Superimposition, this weapon is better than the two, where it boosts ATK unconditionally and increases Crit DMG when Jing Yuan defeats an enemy. Just note that this Light Cone is not recommended against solo boss as the passive won't work.
5 The Birth Of The Self
HP |
ATK |
DEF |
|---|---|---|
952 |
476 |
330 |
S1 Passive |
Increases DMG dealt by the wearer's follow-up attacks by 24%. If the current HP of the target enemy is below 50% of Max HP, increases DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by an extra 24%. |
Similar to Herta (who's featured as the Light Cone's cover), Jing Yuan's Erudition ability also revolves around follow-up attacks.
Honkai: Star Rail – Herta Team Compositions Guide
Herta, as a sub-DPS, has the versatility to fit into many teams.
Because of this, The Birth of the Self is an excellent 4-star weapon for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail. It initially increases follow-up DMG by 24%, then when the enemy's HP falls below 50%, it doubles to a massive 48%.
4 Today Is Another Peaceful Day
HP |
ATK |
DEF |
|---|---|---|
846 |
529 |
330 |
S1 Passive |
After entering battle, increases the wearer's DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.2% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy. |
Today is Another Peaceful Day is a Light Cone obtainable from the Honkai: Star Rail Battle Pass. With a 130 Energy Ultimate, it will grant a universal 26% DMG bonus. Although it seems lower than Herta's The Birth of the Self, a 26% DMG bonus to every hit is more beneficial than a 48% DMG that's strictly for Lightning Lord's hit. However, if players obtain the Blessing in the Simulated Universe that turns all Ultimate DMG into a follow-up attack, then this weapon may fall behind The Birth of the Self.
3 Yet Hope Is Priceless

HP |

DEF |

S1 Passive |

Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 16%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 20% CRIT DMG that exceeds 120%, the DMG dealt by follow-up attack increases by 12%. This effect can stack up to 4 times. When the battle starts or after the wearer uses their Basic ATK, enables the DMG dealt by Ultimate or follow-up attack to ignore 20% of the target's DEF, lasting for 2 turns. |
Jade's signature Light Cone is excellent if players are suffering with Jing Yuan's Crit Rate. To maximize its passive, the wielder must have at least 200% Crit DMG, which can be trivial if the team consists of Crit DMG buffers such as Sparkle or Sunday.
Honkai: Star Rail – The Best Light Cones For Jade
Jade weapons in Honkai: Star Rail ideally boosts either her follow-up ATK or Ultimate DMG.
Sadly, as Jing Yuan rarely uses his Basic ATK, the DEF-ignore effect would be wasted most of the time.
2 Night On The Milky Way
HP |
ATK |
DEF |
|---|---|---|
1,164 |
582 |
396 |
S1 Passive |
For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer's ATK by 9%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% for 1 turn. |
Night of the Milky Way's passive may feel underwhelming compared to the 4-star options, and its performance is highly dependent on whether the passive is active or not. Here's a short summary players can refer to:
- If there's only one enemy: Performs worse than Today is Another Peaceful Day and The Birth of the Self.
- If there's only one enemy and the 30% DMG bonus is active: Works better than the two 4-star Light Cones.
- If there are three enemies: Works better than The Birth of the Self, but worse than Today is Another Peaceful Day.
- If there are three enemies and the 30% DMG bonus is active: Performs almost as well as Before Dawn.
Due to its fluctuating performance, players should know when to use Night on the Milky Way for Jing Yuan, and when to switch it out.
1 Before Dawn

Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 32%. Increases the wearer's Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20%. After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48%. |
Before Dawn is an incredible weapon for Jing Yuan and Erudition characters in general. Although its follow-up attack boost is not useful for everyone, it still increases Crit DMG by a whopping 32% and boosts Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20%. Of course, Jing Yuan will also enjoy the large 48% DMG bonus for his Lightning Lord, allowing him to dish out far larger damage than the other Light Cone options would.
