As a support who gives ATK% to his Bondmate, Dan Heng Permansor Terrae can fit in any team where the DPS depends on ATK to deal DMG. DHPT actually becomes a viable option to replace the sustain in those teams. Here are examples of the best Dan Heng PT teams in HSR:

This is one of the best Dan Heng PT teams in Honkai: Star Rail. The idea here is to have Aglaea run two pets, her Memosprite, and DHPT's Souldragon summon. Both of those summons will advance their action and gain tremendous DPS every time Sunday advances Aglaea's action. On the other hand, Robin buffs the entire team while advancing the team's action, as well. This will create situations where Sunday keeps getting his turn back, repeating the same cycle of buffing Aglaea and her summons.

Does Phainon work with Dan Heng PT?
Yes, the Souldragon stays when Phainon transforms. So, yes, Phainon works with Dan Heng PT in Honkai: Star Rail. Not only that, but Dan Heng PT operates as a shielder and a buffer, which greatly benefits Phainon before and after he transforms. As for Sunday, he was one of the best buffers for Phainon even before Phainon had a summon. So, now with DHPT's summon, Sunday is even a better support for Phainon in HSR.
Additionally, Cerydra fits perfectly into that team as she also buffs Phainon's ATK%, just like Dan Heng PT. Other than the ATK%, she greatly helps Phainon with a lot of offensive buffs that make the difference when he transforms. Because of the synergy between Dan Heng PT and Phainon, the team now has a consistent sustain option, instead of relying on three Harmony units in Honkai: Star Rail.
Dan Heng PT + Archer + Sparkle + Cipher
Archer is one of the best single-target DPS in HSR. However, he consumes a lot of Skill Points (SP), which makes Dan Heng PT a solid option for his teams. Dan Heng Permansor Terrae doesn't consume a lot of Skill Points, making him SP positive. Add Sparkle, who generates more Skill Points than she uses, and Archer will have enough to use all his attacks during his turn.
This Dan Heng PT team works well because all three characters work together to maximize Archer's DPS in HSR. Sparkle advances Archer's action while providing him with enormous Crit DMG, DMG, and ATK% buffs. Dan Heng PT shields the team while increasing Archer's ATK and Crit DMG from his passives and Relics. Cipher causes enemies to take more damage while recording all the numbers to unleash a devastating Ultimate later, using all that recorded DPS.
This team can easily become an F2P Dan Heng PT team in HSR if you replace Sparkle and Cipher with Hanya and Pela. Hanya remains a mediocre buffer with an SP positive kit, while Pela keeps reducing enemies' DEF with her Ultimate. It's not the same as using premium characters, but it's good enough to help Archer's DMG.
